So lucky to have found the Minster Walk to stay for a few days. It is within easy walking distance from the train station and is just a short, beautiful walk across the park to the centre of York.We were in room 5 which had lovely views of the Roman wall and York Minster.We felt really looked after and cannot fault anything. I would definitely recommend Minster Walk to family and friends.

I really loved staying here versus any of the large chain hotels.It was super easy to book and got sent timely info about what to expect.The breakfast was yummy, just perfect and delivered to my room in a cute basket.Will definitely be back.

A gem of a guest house situated in a perfect position for walking everywhere in York. Quiet road, heard no outside noise. Lovely room, spotless, comfortable bed, best couple of nights sleep we've had for a long time. Plenty of tea/coffee and treats in the room and an amazing breakfast delivered to the room in the morning. Will definitely stay here again.

Such a lovely experience from initial enquiry and communication with Ruth to the actual stay.We were in room 4 which was spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable and had an amazing view of the minster. Everything you could need was there from well stocked tea and coffee facilities in the room to the honesty box tuck shop in the lounge plus the free sweets dotted about!Check in and ordering breakfast was simple and efficient and the fact we could drop our bags and collect our keys well before our room was ready made our visit so much easier and fitted in around us rather than the other way around.This was our second visit to the Minster Walk and won’t be our last.

Bed was comfortable, beautiful bathroom, spotlessly clean, quiet and excellent location. Breakfast was good but the option of an egg to have in the bap would have been nice. Would stay again.

From the moment I booked, everything about the Minster Walk Guest House was different. The communication from the owners was excellent gave us all the information we needed to ensure a seamless visit.On arrival we were enchanted by the decor and gorgeousness of the guesthouse itself. What a beautiful place! Small but perfectly formed and they have thought of everything.From complimentary cakes, to little sweet bowls dotted around, board games, a tuck shop, and a fridge for guest use.Our room was lovely, very comfortable, and the breakfast was superb! Well presented with lots of choice and quality produce.Overall we were so impressed with this place,especially for the price.If we were on 4 In a Bed we would definitely over pay!

We lives our star in Minster Walk Inn. Room was spacious and decorated with taste and panache. We had everything we needed from great selection of teas to quality toiletries. Room was very quiet, with bird songs in the morning. Breakfast was pre-ordered and served in the lounge in a basket. Just lovely! This place would be great for families too, with a spacious lounge and tons of board games! Great attention to detail in every aspect. Thank you! We will definitely be back!

The staff was very friendly and helpful, ensuring that our visit was truly successful. The location was perfect, the breakfast was good, and our room was quite small but very clean and just right for us. The Guest House itself had a perfect location, just near the city center but on a quiet street. A really charming place, we highly recommend it!

Amazing weekend at this very quirky guesthouse we are regular visitors to York, but first time at Minster walk. From the minute we checked in it was straight forward and no problems. The room was great, lots of individual extras. My husband loved the tuck shop 😍,breakfast was very different than we have had before but great service and really quirky idea.Will definitely stay again.Well done Minster walk guesthouse.

I just loved this adorable guesthouse. The staff were always friendly and helpful and everything that you could need was provided, including a pub which served great pizzas right next door! The room was a good size with cosy furnishings and the bathroom was fantastic. Just can’t fault this accomodation. An easy 10 minute walk to the train station, even with two large suitcases, and right on the city walls, so very close to everything.

Lovely quaint guesthouse with lots of period features. Very clean room and comfortable bed. Only a 5 minute walk from the Minster to with in walking distance from all the central attractions of York. We were on the second floor and the stairs are twisty and quite narrow so caution was needed especially when carrying luggage, could be difficult for anyone with mobility issues. Parking, which is often an issue in a historic city is not on site. It is a 5 minute walk down the road to dedicated parking bays on the roadside so we dropped the luggage off first before paring up. Lovely place though and we would definitely stay again.

All nicely organised, from the reserved car-parking instructions to the courtesy "Love Hearts" in a very raidable jar greeting us as we walked in.Room was comfortable, nicely laid out and themed and the breakfast baps were an excellent start-up for the day. Got home and booked another stay immediately. Thank you and see you soon.

A fantastic value-for-money stay, just a short walk from York city centre. The staff are friendly and chatty, making for a warm welcome. The room isn’t huge but has everything you need, including a spacious bathroom with a great sized shower.Everything is clean, with crisp bedding and a comfortable bed—though the pillows are a little firm. Breakfast is a lovely extra, delivered straight to your room, so there’s no need to get dressed early. The tea and coffee facilities are well-stocked with plenty of treats.A very enjoyable stay overall!

I stayed with a friend in one of the family rooms. Room was lovely! Bright and clean with lovely selection of teas and snacks, perfect for a little pit stop before heading back out again.Breakfast was a tasty bacon and sausage roll with some pastries- set us up well for a day of exploring.Can’t wait to book again with my family.

We had a great stay here, the room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were very welcoming, and we really enjoyed our vegan breakfast in our room.We would definitely stay here again, as it was only a short walk into town centre.

Our second stay at Minister Walk and like the first time we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Excellent communication prior to arrival. Very welcoming, and our room was very clean, and comfy for us. Just had a 3 night stay here. What a fantastic find it was. The accommodation is first class and the staff couldn't be nicer.The breakfast baskets are a great idea and you have the option to have breakfast in your room. We stayed in a superior double room and boutique toiletries were provided. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the Train Station and the Minster. Next time we come to York we will be staying here again.

We stayed here for my partners birthday and it was lovely. On arrival we picked our envelope with a welcome letter and keys to the room. Room was lovely and spacious with a lovely view. We chose to have our breakfast delivered to us in the morning. Definitely would recommend it.

A lovely experience,from the pre informed parking instructions to checking in. The Minster Walk Guest House ticked all the boxes for a comfortable stay.For us the staff struck the right balance of being at hand if required and leaving the guests in peace to come and go as you wish.The bathroom was better than expected for such an old property. We have just stopped in Room 6 for 2 nights.I think we had the comfiest beds ever. We all slept so well.Breakfast delivered to the room in a basket was a lovely idea. None of us needed any lunch afterwards.The decor throughout was tasteful and gave a cozy atmosphere.Very helpful team when sending queries by email or on the phone.The location of Minster Walk couldn’t be better and so quiet too .Even though there is a delightful pub next door the noise was not noticeable. We can thoroughly recommend their pizzas !We plan to return to York again later this yearand will be hoping to stop in Room 6 once more.

We have loved staying here and arealready planning to return. The room was very clean, quietand comfortable. We wanted to take themattress home. The breakfast hamper was a delight with the best crispy bacon rolls. We definitely would recommend to anyone. The only thing we would do differently is to book a room on the ground level or first floor due to our mobility issues. Wonderful stay in a beautiful city.

Perfect location getting into the centre, only a 5 minute walk away, car parking was easy to get to and it felt great knowing you didn’t have to worry about moving it or running out of time. The staff were so friendly and welcoming on arrival, the breakfast was delicious and there was extra options for tea, cereal and toast. The emails I received were clear, friendly and helpful. Our room was tidy, comfortable and had all the things you needed, toiletries for the shower, sink and there was a kettle and plenty of tea and hot chocolate available in the room also. The bed was really comfortable. Overall, a 10/10 stay for me and my boyfriend, couldn’t praise it high enough.

We booked Minster Walk as a last minute alternative after our original hotel let us down, and it turned out to be an absolute blessing! The staff here are friendly and will go to any length for you. The place itself is quirkily decorated and has a lot of character, and the communal space downstairs has so many thoughtful details, including complimentary sweets, drinks, board games and even a guest fridge if you want to store some of your own food. The room we had was really cleverly decorated, and very clean, with all the modern facilities despite the building itself being very old. You get the charm of the vintage origin alongside the modern conveniences. My only complaint is that the pillows were too thick for me - I prefer thinner pillows. This is just a personal thing though - the hotel is brilliant and I'd still stay there again.

The breakfast hamper was excellent. The location of the property was excellent, so central to York Minster and the city, easily accessible from the railway station. Very welcoming on arrival and all the team at the guest house were brilliant. Refreshments available at all times was a lovely touch.

We've stayed before so new it would be great. A friendly, quirky little guesthouse, extremely well pkaced for the theatre, much nicer than staying in acorporate chain.

I loved every minute of my stay in this warm, cosy and quirky hotel. The room was warm and beautifully decorated. The mattress was incredibly comfortable. And the bath was absolutely divine - such a treat! No noise on a night, which was pleasantly surprising for central York. The breakfast was really tasty. Would highly recommend, felt cosy, safe and serene.

The Minster Walk was a great choice for our stay in York. Close enough to the train station to be convenient but central enough to be no more than a 20 minute walk most of Yorks highlights. Our room was very comfortable and the radiator was wonderful on cold nights. Thanks for a fantastic stay.

We stayed for three nights in the Harry Potter room which was charming with exposed beams and excellent views of the Minster. Breakfast in the basket was delicious. Thoroughly recommended and would definitely stay here again.

We had a faultless 2 night stay at Minster Walk. The room and facilities are impeccable. The complementary breakfast was excellent and the hosts lovely. A stones throw from the station and a short walk through scenic gardens into the heart of the city. Would book again in a heartbeat.

Overall we enjoyed our stay, the location was great and we liked the little extras such as free tea and coffee, mince pies etc provided and breakfast in bed was a nice touch. A few things could have been better, the room was quite small, with ensuite even tighter and the electric shower was disappointing. We would stay again as overall we were happy.

What a quaint guesthouse! We arrived early to a friendly welcoming and our room was already ready for us which was a bonus. As you walk into the guesthouse the decor is so wonderfully warm and welcoming. We stayed in room 2 which was made up of a theatre design, even down to the two old theatre seats for you to sit down on. There was two glasses of sherry and mince pies waiting for us in the room. The bathroom clean and spacious and I loved the bath. We decided to have breakfast in our room, but you do have the choice to have it in a dining area. It was brought to us in a lovely wicker style basket. Mulled wine and mince pies waiting for you when you came back from a day in York was a lovely touch which just adds to the beauty of this guest house. The staff are warm and welcoming. We had a lovely three night stay and recommend it.

We just love the room and the character of the place and woulddefinitely come again.My only small criticism is that we were only left one hand towel between us and that had to last us 3 days.

What a little gem this guest house is, thebest accommodation we've stayed in by far in York, we'll definitely be returning. When you first arrive you walk into what I can only describe as a little shop of curiosity, with some lovely complimentary sweet treats and refreshments. They also have a tuck shop that you help yourself too with a honestly box on the wall to pay for your purchases. The quirky rooms were spotlessly clean and we had two small glasses of sherry and a mince pie each in the rooms on our arrival.Breakfast was delivered to our room the next morning in a basket with consisted of fresh orange/apple juice, pasteries and hot bacon/sausage sandwiches. Kettle with complimentary sweet treats were also in our room. We stay in York 2 or three times a year and we've definitely found of hotel for future stays, highly recommended😊

The Minster walk was very easy to get to from the train Station. Turn left out of the station through the carpark I've the bridge and it just down the road 10 mins. The B & B itself was very nice. The only thing I didn't read correctly was the breakfast is pre ordered.The hot are sausage, bacon or both on a muffin or barm. The Minster walk is about 10 mins walk to the Minster itself. Very clean and the staff are very welcoming.There is a small pub next door, this does close at 8 on a Sunday

1st time staying at Minster Walk and it certainly will not be the last. Easy to get to. In a great location with a very short walk into the City centre. The room was was excellent with a great shower. The bed was so comfy and we struggled to get up the next morning. Great buffet breakfast delivered to room. Sherry and mince pies in room on arrival was a nice touch. The lounge was lovely and hot drinks, mulled wine, and mince pies were available 24/7. We will be back!

We have just had a night away at Minster Walk guesthouse. Loved it. Very comfortable and well presented room. Loved all of the additions especially the sherry and mince pie. The guesthouse is very well located being only a few minutes walk from York centre. Great communication from the guesthouse before and during our stay. We will definitely stay here again.

I love staying here. It’s unique and each room is different.Here there is history and atmosphere.Very comfortable and clean. Breakfast is served in a basket in your room, if you so wish.Very good so long as you don’t want a full English!The house is in a good position for a gentle walk into the city.This was another return visit and won’t be the last.

Super-stylish guest house on a quiet road very close to the Minster. We arrived on the first day of Advent to find mulled wine warming in the snug and a cloche of mince pies. Lots of other provisions available as a courtesy for guests, plus a downstairs guest fridge. Real open handed generosity at work here. We stayed in a top floor family room full of character and with beautiful views over the Minster - and again that sense that the Minster Walk Guest House had considered everything you might want and provided it in-room. The breakfast was served in a cute basket, a hot bacon/sausage roll/granola and yoghurt/pastries/fruit juice, all freshly made and delicious. I got a cancellation here -mostly it's fully booked a long way in advance. So just grab it while you can!

We have been coming for the last 3 yrs a group of friends such a cute quirky place to stay we all love it you are made very welcome bag drop mince pies mulled wine and all the extras the rooms was so quaint the beds very comfy breakfast is great Lisa and staff are second to none already booked for next November

We were absolutely over the moon with our stay At the minster walk guest house, the room was beyond expectations, we had a theatre themed room, every little touch just made it perfect, breakfast was lovely & presented so well, the lounge area & breakfast area are so quirky but just fit so well with the ambience of the guest house. The staff were so friendly & helpful, we used the car parking facility offered by the guest house which is just couple mins walk away. We would 100% recommend a stay in this guest house to anyone going to York the location is perfect , easy reach for the minster, pubs & the shambles.

The guest house is top notch. Easy access, easy parking if pre-booked. Checkin easy, quick & straight forward. Rooms were immaculate, clean & comfortable. We stayed here for 1 night, what an amazing stay. We were welcomed to a shot of peach schnapps and a mince pie in our room. The room was Harry Potter themed which we loved!! Great quality guesthouse which is just outside the walls of York. The rooms are extremely well appointed and our room was luxurious with a top notch bathroom, plenty of quality teas and coffee with biscuits in the room and also in the main area. I would recommend stopping here. Well done

An excellent guest house!A most pleasant stay within a very traditional roomed building. The guest house has a very homely ambiance to it, everything was presented beautifully. Our room decor was also traditional with high beamed ceilings, a well set out room and bathroom covering all our needs! Very comfortable and quiet! 3-4 minute walk to the main area of the Minster and Shambles, including a freeparking spot for our stay which took a minute to walk to from tbd hotel door. A very pleasant breakfast was brought to our table which again did not disappoint. We would throughly recommend The Minster Guest and wouldn’t hesitate to stop there again.

Loved our overnight stay at Minster Walk Guest House. Really quirky and cosy. Less than a 10 minute walk from the train station and right next to the York Museum and gardens and literally a couple of minutes into the town centre...perfect spot. Loved thebreakfast which we had in the lounge but you can also choose to it have in your room (delivered in a basket). Very welcoming ,comfy beds and clean. Would definitely recommend if you like cosy, comfortable and quirky!!

Thanks to Minster Walk Guest house for a lovely stay in York. I would highly reccomend this place, it's so quirky and full of history. The people who run it are great, very friendly staff, rooms are very clean and comfortable with lots of little extra touches. Breakfast is very tasty and plentiful with all fresh produce. I can't wait to go back. You are located very close to the minster and all the attractions York has to offer. And a large car park is located 2 minutes walk from the hotel.

I came for a few days to York with my Mum.From the booking we were very well taken care of - we were contacted beforehand to ensure we were ok to manage the flights of stairs to our room in the top floor.Arriving by train it was easy to walk to with the clear instructions provided by the guest house.The position of Minster Walk is excellent and we enjoyed walking through the museum gardens each morning on our way to explore the City.Each evening we walked out to find somewhere to eat from the many excellent restaurants close by.Minster Walk itself was a delightful place to stay.Our room was very spacious, comfortable and well furnished.The bathroom was bright and everything was sparklingly clean with lovely toiletries provided.The decor throughout was fun and quirky and the communal area was cosy and welcoming with lots of seating.Having access to hot drinks both downstairs and in our room was great.The breakfast hamper was a lovely idea - tasty food and just the right amount to set us up for the day, and great that we could choose to eat downstairs or in our room (we did both!).The staff we met were friendly, kind and helpful.All in all a wonderful stay and would definitely stay here again on a visit to York!

Welcoming guest house in the centre of York. Comfortable room, with nice toiletries. Breakfast was delivered to our room. We are both vegan and happy to be catered for. This was especially appreciated when we were left a vegan treat and oat milk sachets. I have stayed in different places as a vegan and this is the first time a place has been so thoughtful. So glad to be returning in the summer.

Recently returned home from the Minster Walk Guest House, We stayed in Room 2 it was a lovely cheerful room, with a really comfy bed, slept so good!The B&B had lots of nice touches, example we liked we could drop our luggage off early so we could go off exploring.We loved the Hamper Breakfast it was a nice touch.And the sweets left in our room. Everthing was perfect. And the B&B was in a good spot.We'll definitely return to see what the other rooms are like.The added personal touches make it a 5 star for us.

Found Minster Walk online and how glad we were too.Good communication from start to finish with easy directions to the b n b. (It's right next door to The Minster pub) Great position to the center of York either through the gardens if open, or on the road, either way it's about a 5 minute walk.Onto Minster Walk itself. From first entering it's captivating, with a warm atmosphere and welcome.There is tea, coffee and cake bars to help yourself to at anytime, along with games and books.The room was lovely. Had everything in it we needed and was incredibly clean. The bed was so comfy and the breakfast hamper lovely. We asked for our bacon well done and it was perfect for us.All the people who work there are very nice and them and the owner work hard and it shows.If you want somewhere that's well placed and great value with a comfy bed you can't go far wrong booking here. We liked it so much we have booked again.

Visited York with my 13 yo son over the half term holiday. The Minster Walk guest house was perfectly located, just out of the busier areas, opposite the museum gardens but a short walk to the Minster and the train station. The accommodation was very clean, comfortable and had much more character than any larger hotels I’ve stayed in. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly from the moment we booked to our checkout. My son was made up with having breakfast delivered to the room each day, something I’ve explained won’t be continuing at home. Thanks again and we’ll definitely return in the future.

We loved our stay at the Minster Walk. Right when we walked in we were greeted with friendly faces. Communication before our stay was excellent. We had a family room with two twin beds and a king. It was extremely spacious and a big bathroom. There were plenty of outlets and even washcloths! The beds were amazingly comfortable and everything was so clean.Breakfast was great as well and we loved having it brought to our table in a little basket. Tea and coffee were out all day to enjoy.The location was great as well, right outside the walls near the York botanical gardens.We would definitely stay again!

Lovely walks along the river nearby. Cafes, city centre shopping on the doorstep. Breakfast delivered to room if required. Tip : try for lower floors if ageing n creaky like us!

We had the Harry Potter themed room, which was a nice surprise. The detail to attention is fantastic.The breakfast in bed option was a great touch.My daughter loved not having to get up and dressed.Will definitely recommend and book again, the location is brilliant too.

The Guest House is in a great location on a quiet street, yet close to all the attractions York has to offer. We received a friendly welcome on arrival, along with clear instructions on how to get to our reserved parking space & our options for breakfast.The Guest House has a cosy atmosphere, with complimentary bowls of sweets, tea, coffee & cakes. There is also a Tuck Shop selling chocolate, crisps and refreshments.We stayed in Room 8, which was decorated in a quirky mix of theatrical medieval furnishings. This is a small room, yet was perfectly adequate for our needs. There were some nice little touches which added to our experience. Lovely complementary toiletries, and a special flannel to take your makeup off! Along with tea & coffee making facilities, there were also sweets & cakes to enjoy.We opted to have thebreakfast in bed option which was yummy, hot bacon & sausage baps, granola & yoghurt with fruit compote and fresh orange juice.The only recommendation I would suggest is, it would be useful to have a shelf in the en-suite to put toiletries on and a rail/hook to hang the towels on.

Chose Minster Walk to compliment seeing Steve Hackett playing tracks from the Lamb lies down on Broadway, at the Barbican. My wife chose the guest house and it couldn't have been better. Great railway themed rooma nice breakfast (in bed if you want) very pleasant staff and a great location for exploring York, very quiet area. Booked immediately for next April.

Wow what a fabulous guest house. From arriving to departing everything was first class. We loved the quirky rooms and every where was spotless and clean. The breakfast was so nice and very filling, a lovely way to start the day. We were so refreshed after a good nights sleep in a very comfortable bed. We had a wonderful 2 night stay at Minster walk guesthouse for my fiancées 30th birthday. The location is fantastic, we could very easily walk into the town centre and the train station. Lovely views of the Minster too. The room was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The decor is amazing! Straight away from booking nothing was too much of a problem. Any questions were answered quickly and wonderful recommendations given for local places to eat. The guesthouse is clean, comfortable and cosy. Warm and inviting. Space to relax and chill in the guest lounge with complementary hot drinks and snacks is a lovely addition. Our room was the family room and we had plenty of space with the benefit of having separate sleeping areas but still being together. The bedroom & bathroom were bothspotless & beds very comfortable. Very good location from the station and into the main area. We had a wonderful stay.

Upon arrival we were greeted by two very helpful ladies.The room was lovely in every way and exceptionally clean. We had room 1 bottom floor. The bathroom was large and spacious with complimentary products available to use and to purchase should you wish to. The room has a super king bed and plenty of space to pop your belongings in. I loved the snack bar with a honesty box. We were told to treat the facilities like home which was nice. The staff are friendly and very welcoming. Just a perfect home from home guest house.

This quaint guest house was cute and cozy. Bathrooms were modern. A nice quiet street. Nice pub with food nextdoor as well. Very close to Minster and all the shops and parks.

Exceptionally quirky and fun accommodation. We stayed in room number 2. It was fantastic. Lovely toiletries and beautiful bathroom. The breakfast was also very tasty. There are numerous board games and quizzes for evening entertainment in the guest lounge. Location of Minster Walk guest house is PERFECT for exploring York. We managed to see everything we wanted to see in a day. The railway museum is a MUST do!

We stayed for two nights at this lovely guesthouse. It’s perfectly located for walking into the centre and a 10 minute walk from the rail station. It’s cosy and the staff can’t do enough to make sure your stay is perfect, with sweets in the downstairs area and sweets in your room daily. The breakfast hamper is inspired which you can either take downstairs or have on your room. The yoghurt and granola is delicious and the ingredients for the bacon and sausage bap are beautiful. We stayed in room 8 3/4 on the second floor which is a Harry Potter themed and is a family room. Although it’s beautifully decorated it’s a bit difficult to dodge the beams and low window next to the bed, as our heads found out on several occasions! The bathroom is beautiful but again the bath isn’t for tall wizards and witches! There also isn’t any shelving in the bathroom to store toiletries on. If you’ve got a large case it’s worth talking to the owner about booking a room on the ground floor or first floor as dragging a large case up two flights of stairs will be a challenge! These are only small things though as the whole place is just fabulous and we would definitely stay again.

Very friendly and made us feel rather welcome upon opening the door to let us in. Made us feel like it was our home too. Nothing too much trouble, gave me a card for the local taxi, very affordable. Hotel room spot on everything you need for an overnight stay, breakfast included. You had a choice of breakfast in your room or go down to the dining room. Bathroom with lively hot shower. Spotless throughout. Very homely.

We keep coming back to Minster Walk, as it is so convenient to all local facilities. Train station, York minster, and shops. The accommodation is exactly what we want for our needs, it is unlike hotels which do not give you the high standards we expect. The staff are so good and look after you so well, keep doing what you obviously love.

We stayed at the minister walk B&B for the first time in September this year. Great location and lovely homely accommodation. Stayed in room 8 3/4, Harry Potter themed with excellent views of the minister with lovely roll top bath, also the bed was very comfortable. We absolutely loved the size, quirky décor & cleanliness of the rooms and shared spaces. The narrow turning stairs are a killer however, particularly with heavy luggage. The proximity to the main York sights was superb.

We stay here whenever we visit York. We love it. It's a perfect distance from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. It has a quirky interior which is just what I like. Lovely, friendly staff. Very accommodating. You can order breakfast in bed (or eat in the lounge), which is great when you're on your hols. No rushing around in the mornings. Each bedroom is decorated in its own unique way, and the beds are very comfy. On our last visit, we had a birthday and they left us a bottle of fizz which was very thoughtful. Thanks. As long as Minster Walk is here, we'll keep coming back.

This is an amazing place -- really comfortable and supportive beds and pillows, an excellent breakfast (with tasty vegan sausage for those who don't eat meat), and a design that is whimsical without being kitschy. Also, you know a B&B is centrally located when it is literally behind the ruins of a 900-year old abbey. If you come visit York (and you should, the city feels both historic and workaday), you could do a lot worse than to stay here.

Wow, what a gem this lovely B&B is! I stayed with my two friends in the family room, which was just perfect for us, as there were three beds in two adjoining rooms. Everything was spotlessly clean andthe beds and room were very comfortable. The fact that you can help yourself to tea/ coffee/ biscuits in the lounge at any time is a lovely touch - and that is in addition to a kettle and drinks in your room.The breakfast hampers are fantastic too - a great choice of food all freshly prepared and delivered in a cute hamper.The staff were all really friendly and helpful and the location is excellent - right in the centre but in a quiet street.Perfect all round and I'll be recommending this lovely place to all of my friends.

The B&B is run by three lovely ladies with great attention to detail.The only criticism I have - and this is complaining at a high level - is that there is no storage space in the bathroom of our guest room. This could be different in the other available rooms.We could still work on that.Otherwise everything was perfect.

Stayed for 2 nights for a birthday and anniversary weekend away in York. Couldn’t fault our stay here. Customer service was brilliant. We loved our stay in Minster Walk and York. The Guest House is very central with a short walk into the city. Check in was straightforward and our room was clean and tidy with a comfy bed and delightful toiletries. There was plenty of choice of teas and coffee and sweet treats in the room as well as the guest lounge downstairs. The breakfast hamper in bed was an absolute pleasure. We had rooms 8 + 83/4 (Harry Potter themed room) and the theming was perfect. The beds were so comfortable and the bath was fab!!- deep and luxurious. The customer service was nothing but amazing and the breakfast was delicious! Everything was how they said it would be and no qualms or disappointments with our stay. We can't wait to go again! The car park is no more than a few minutes walk so no worries for parking.There was a TV in the rooms, teas, coffees, hot chocolates and even sweets and chocolates. The children loved it as much as the adults. Highly recommend.

Convenient location with historic feel, but modern amenities in bedrooms. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fresh and delicious; offered in room or in common lounge with other guests. Public car park just down the street. Short walking distance to historic walls, museum, garden/park, and close to shambles and other shopping and restaurants. Would definitely use again.

I love to stay in places that add to my experience of the place that I am visiting, and Minster Walk enhanced both my time and connection to York. The location of the guest house is perfect: convenient and quiet. The building is a lesson in history, while the rooms are offer every modern convenience, being inviting, beautiful, and comfortable. I also loved their breakfast hampers, which offered a relaxing and delicious way to start the day. My family and I explored the U.K. for three weeks, and Minster Walk was perhaps our favorite stay.

Staying in York for the weekend, we came across this guest house which looked great and it was! Really cute setting in the communal lounge and individual rooms, great breakfast options, easy check-in and a really short walk from the city centre. Located next to a really great pub which I'd also recommend and we had no issues with noise either.

Regularly visit York and it’s sometimes difficult to accommodate 3 people n a room but as a group of girls having a catch up weekend, we found Minster guesthouse. Access to the property was easy from the train station and located in a perfect spot to access all that York has to offer. The accommodation was quirky with lots of trinkets around. We loved the plentiful supply of sweets, the honesty shop for pop, crisps etc. There’s a fridge to pop your drinks in the main lounge and we dropped our cases in as it was only 11ish when we arrived. Room 7 is at the top of the stairs which was hot but there’s a large fan in the room and windows had been left open. Bedroom immaculate and again quite quirky with the tiger and zebra rugs 😁 breakfast can be ordered to the room which was even better. Would definitely return.

Really friendly B&B with well appointed clean room with en-suite facilities having separate WC & shower rooms.Room over looked the road but as it is a small quiet road next to the City walls there was no disturbing noise.Breakfasts are pre-ordered with good quality bacon/sausage sandwich, granola & pastries to chose from which can be delivered in a basket to your room or had downstairs in the lounge which also has a guest fridge & a honesty “tuck shop”.Nextdoor is the Minster Inn which is a friendly pub to relax in. Walk into the City via Bootham Bar Gate house is only 10 minutes either through the museum gardens or the road.10/minutes walk from the rail station. All in all an excellent stay in a B&B with character & easy responsive communication with the owners.

Excellent, characterful B&B very close to the centre of York.Very unusual, a one-off and quirky but in a very good way!Access to York through St Mary's gardens made it very easy to gain access to the city centre and the river. Gain for trips out to North Yorkshire.Staff friendly and helpful and car parking laid on (and in York that is worth having!)Breakfasts served in a very different way (picnic hamper) made it fun and unique.Would highly recommend.

A very imaginitively presented and quirky place to stay with thoughtful touches such as the breakfast baskets - the hosts have obviously given everything a lot of consideration).However, the price was a bit too high for the size of the room and some of the level of amenities (there was only instant coffee and basic sliced bread), but it was Saturday night so would likely be better value another night

This Guest House has everything you need. It has more personal touches than some four and five star Hotels including Fresh Milk.It is a small place but you are aware of that.It is very clean.I would recommend.

Amazing stay at the Minster Guest Hotel. The room was unique, the bath was to die for! And the mattress was so comfortable it was like sleeping on a pillow! The breakfast in bed was a lovely touch!

Super location in a really quiet street only a couple of minutes from the city centre and the station. The hotel saves you money because you can come back during the day and have a cup of tea and a complimentary chocolate biscuit in the lounge before you head back out.The people who run the hotel are really nice so it feels like your home in the city.Comfortable and big beds and good showers so it is a great choice all round.

Where do I start. From booking to breakfast this place is fabulous. Right at the walls and 2 minutes from everything you will want to see in York we couldn’t have been happier. The breakfast hamper was over the top and so unique. Thank you. We will be back

Minster Walk Guest House could not have been better! The location was amazing, close enough to town so access was quick but not too close to be overly busy or loud. The area itself was quite at night and felt comfortable and the House was amazing. Met by incredible staff and given a gorgeous room. Car parking was all sorted and secure, also close by so easy to access. Gorgeous room with lovely decor, bathroom was great and shower was brilliant. One of our favorite features was the breakfast options, particularly the "breakfast in bed" option which made the stay extra special. We will definitely be going back soon!

I booked myself a solo trip away and for the price, was stunned at how lovely Minster Walk Guesthouse was. The owners (I think!) communicated really well prior to my stay, so there was no stress about entering/leaving the property. The downstairs area is so charming, cosy and full of character, I’ll definitely be coming back just to get to enjoy this some more! The room itself was gorgeous, with lovely views, a spotless bathroom and potentially the comfiest bed I’ve ever slept on!! Even the little touches such as the ridiculously wide selection of teas, coffees and hot chocolates in both the room and downstairs was super thoughtful and just went that extra mile. The breakfast options were amazing.Honestly, I could go on for ages but I’ll definitely be recommending this to friends and family:)

Booked this lovely B&B for one night over Easter weekend.They were really helpful and it was nice and clean and had some cute quirky features.Ideal spot close to the city walls with a great local pub next door. Very comfy bed and enjoyed the breakfast too.

The location, close to the centre of York was excellent, as was the accommodation, with its huge, comfortable bed. Secure parking was available on request and the facilitation of parking permits was well organised. The breakfast was perfect and a wide selection of breakfast alternatives was available.

As a retired interior designer I loved the furnishings and colour choices. The house is very welcoming and I enjoyed talking to the very helpful and accommodating staff. I will definitely recommend you to my friends.

Myself and my fiancé have just returned from a 3 night stay here and couldn't recommend it enough. Everything was spotless, the bed was the comfiest I've ever slept on and the owners/staff were lovely! I loved the little touches, so much thought gone into everything. I had breakfast in bed 2 days running which was delivered in a cute hamper. Staying here means you are so close to everything so we didn't need to drive anywhere which was a great break. Thank you! Our second time at Minster Walk and again had a wonderful stay and couldn’t have asked for more. Room 6 with 2 sleeping sections worked very well for the three ofus.The room is quirky and full of character with very comfortable beds and lovely bed linen. Bathroom is modern and spotlessly clean. Instructions were sent to usvia email on how to find the property and access code as proprietors were not based at the site – reserved on street parking just down the road.Quite steep stairs to the bedrooms so if you aren’t too mobile you might want some help carrying your bags up the stairs.We stayed in room number 3. Lovely room and as previous guests have said, amazing comfy bed!Bathroom was adequate though very tight between the door and the shower wall so if you weren’t careful you would keep banging the wall when you went in the bathroom.Breakfast – unique idea, fill in your order forms before 7am in the morning and they willdeliver your ‘Breakfast Hamper’ to you either in the guest lounge or to your room if you have decided to have Breakfast in Bed.We opted to go down stairs and were welcomedand offered our breakfasts of bacon/sausage baps and pastries. There is even fresh yogurt with fruit and grains which was delicious. There are offerings of tea, coffee, cereal and toast if you wish to have that. All in all a lovely breakfast.There are also games and books in the guest lounge and complementary drinks and sweet treats.We would definitely recommend and stay again, position is great, only a few mins walk to York Minister. If you prefer a hotel with the proprietorson sitemaybe not a place for you but we will definitely be back as that was not a problem for us and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Stayed for two nights with a work colleague for a girly break. Minster House didn’t disappoint. Location is fabulous, a simple 5 minute trot (depending on how quick you trot it could be done in 2-3) to the Minster. The room was spotlessly clean (Room 7 on third floor was fantastic) and the breakfast hamper beautifully presented and tasted delicious. We had this delivered to the room which was a lovely touch. Everything about this place was gorgeous. Quirky, homely, interesting, comfortable, welcoming and the team were SUPER responsive when I contacted them. Nothing is too much trouble. I wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend. Loved everything!!!! Thank you Minster Walk!!!

Great location for all amenities in York. Accommodation was clean, all staff extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast buns were very tasty, plus the options of cereals, toast, pastries and drinks. The road is perfectly quiet even with a pub next door ( who serve good beer and pizzas by the way!) A two minute walk through the minster gardens and you’re in the shopping area, five minutes from the famous Shambles and York Minster. My only niggle ( and it’s just my preference) was that the pillows were a bit hard, I do normally bring my own but we came by train. Talking of trains, the walk from the station was 5 minutes, this saved us a lot of money as York parking is expensive, if you can get aspace. Would definitely stay again and would recommend it. Prices compared to hotels were good especially if you book with them direct. Thank you.

What a great place! The staff are friendly and gave plenty of information about how to get to places as the guesthouse is situated in a great location for access to the city just a short walk away. Quirky decor which we loved. Comfy bed and really clean room with lovely toiletries.Breakfast was the best we've had with lots of choice with the option of room service or dining in the guest area. Free tea/coffee and sweet treats at all times with a fridge for fresh milk. Games and books available to use and we enjoyed a game of Scrabble with a hot drink and a cake in between sightseeing. We will certainly stay here again when visiting this beautiful city and recommend to others. Thank you for making us so welcome.

From start to finish, this was a great experience. Booking was easy and email communication was very thorough. We knew exactly what to expect before arriving. Car parking was easy to add on and we had no problems parking. We had a very warm welcome and the lounge is lovely with some really nice and thoughtful touches. The room was a decent size, again with some very thoughtful touches. Room was very clean, with a hugecomfy bed. The breakfast baskets were lovely. Baps had plenty of sausage and bacon in them and we certainly didn't go hungry. Location is fabulous. Quick and easy to get to the centre, with a beautiful walk through some gardens. What a great couple of nights we had.

Enjoyed a short break in York our first time spent at The Minster walk Guesthouse,and we were very happy with the friendly and accommodating staff who made us feel at home.Had a lovely room with a very comfy bed and plenty of tea and coffee in our room as well as in the lounge which felt like being in your own living room with games and books to entertain.Was impressed by the tasty breakfast which could be delivered to your room,which included delicious pastries,yougurts,and a chose of a sausage or bacon bap,you could have a big selection of cereals and toast in the lounge plenty of chose for all to enjoy 😀 .Our only negative was that there wasn't a larger space to hang clothes or towels maybe hooks on the bathroom door would help other than this we enjoyed our stay and would recommend to friends and family .

This was the first time we had stayed at Minster Walk Guest House and it was just perfect for what we wanted. The place is situated perfectly for discovering York. We parked our car in the local car park 3 minutes walk from the guest house and didn't use it again till we went home, everything is a short walk away from the Minster to the train Museum. Room was nice and clean, there`s a pub next door so not far to go for a drink. The staff at Minster Walk Guest House were fantastic and the breakfast was enough to fill anyone up for the day ahead. There was mulled wine available with mince pies on arrival back from a busy cold day shopping. The breakfast hamper was delicious with warm baps and pastries along with juices. Stayed for one night whist in York for the Christmas market. Loved everything about this quirky,friendly little place which is just a short walk from the station and even closer to the Minster and town centre. Our cosy room was theatrically themed with a spacious bathroom. The festive drinks and mince pies in our room were a welcome surprise and the complimentary drinks and treats available all day in the lounge much appreciated. The breakfast hamper brought to our room had delicious bacon and sausage baps. Look forward to staying here again and have already recommended it to friends.

Booked a 3 night stay in early December in room 4 - minster view room. The room and bathroom were spotless with a glass of festive spirit and a mince pie awaiting us in the room.In the communal area downstairs there is a fridge for guests use and free mulled wine and cake. A lovely breakfast delivered to your room daily if you wish. Finally a quick mention about the king size bed - it was incredibly comfortable. All in all I would thoroughly recommend this guest house for a stay in York.

We've stayed in York many times, but Minster Walk has got to be the best by far! The themed rooms are amazing. We recently stayed in the theatre themed room. Every detail was perfect. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast lovely,and the free mulled wine and mince pies was a lovely addition. Would definitely recommend if you're considering a trip to York.

I had read all the great reviews before booking and the guest house did not disappoint. Cosy welcome into the lounge where there are hot drinks to help yourself to as well as games and books. Our room was right at the top and was beautifully clean and airy. Beds were comfy, tv worked great, shower had lots of hot water with lovely toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap and hand and body cream) breakfast the next morning delivers to our room was really good quality. The sausage and bacon cob was so big we couldn’t manage the other bits we had ordered. All the staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming.We would definitely staff again.Only little thing was the towels, I like a nice big bath sheet and a could barely get the larger towel wrapped around, that’s and individual thing though so if you like a really big towel maybe bring one as I will do next time.

My son and I met in York and stopped at the MWGH. We had a very warm welcome, every detail catered for, and instructions were clear and easy to follow. The decor is both homely and quirky, the rooms are imaginative in design and comfortable in experience. The sweets a really nice touch. We had Room 8 3/4 at the top of the house (you need to be able manage some steep stairs) and it was wonderfully quirky and comfortable. This room has double and single beds and a bathroom with a lovely shower and large bath. Good toiletries and soft towels. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast is of a good quality (but with limited choice) and can be taken in your room (not suitable for us as there was nowhere to eat) or downstairs in the open-plan lounge and 'dining' area. We appreciated the add-lib drinks downstairs and the little sweet rolls. We also loved the great range of books and games on offer.This guesthouse is ideally situated,facing the Yorkshire Museum park walls, 7-8 minutes walk from the station side entrance, within the same amount of walking time to the city centre and with a large car public park to the rear.There were a couple of down-sides for us - these should not be read as criticisms but matters of mainly personal preference. We would prefer a fuller breakfast menu, served downstairs with choices made at the table; we would have liked a more permanent staff presence and we think there should be a guest loo on the ground floor.That being said, we enjoyed our stay in this lovely old house.

I really enjoyed my 1 night stay. The staff are lovely and welcoming. The breakfast was great and the complementary tea, cakes and board games were lovely. I would love to stay again. I knocked a star as in the room I stayed in, the noise from the adjacent room transmitted. Other than that no issues, bed was very comfortable, rooms clean and tidy with TV and netflix!

Charming building, lovely room and en-suite. Checking in was simplistic and pain free. Parking needed further attention and limited. Breakfast in bed was a nice treat and the attention to details clearly evident which is excellent. Definitely one to return to.

This was our 3rd year staying here this year and have booked for our fourth year. We stayed in room number 7 (Viking Theme) and it was just as beautiful as the other rooms we have stayed in. The staff are very friendly and will help out with anything you need. Breakfast as always was delicious and fresh. Looking forward to trying a different room next year

Very stylish accommodation in a great location.Our room was spacious the bathroom was lovely and bright.The bed was comfy and the staff were friendly. If I had to make a very small point I like everything straight and the large TV on the wall was slightly lower at one side.Maybe it has too because of the age of the property?We would stay here again.

We had such a fantastic relaxing stay, everything was just perfect. Lying in bed, which was one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in, listening to the bells from York Minster and eating a delicious breakfast in bed, in such a unique bedroom made this a very special stay. Vegan options were well catered for so thank you. We had a gorgeous bathroom which was immaculately clean, and the lovely toiletries are a nice touch. Easy walking distance from the City Centre. We will definitely be back.

Minster Walk Guest House has the perfect location for the centre of York. It is a very old building with lots of maintained period features. Because of this the rooms are small but that’s fine because we are only there to sleep.You have access to the lounge area on the ground floor at all times. We found it nice and quiet and the beds were really comfortable. I would stay again.

Can't compliment the Minister Walk Guest House highly enough. A quirky high standard accomodation within the heart of York - only minutes walk from most attractions. Room was exceptional, with view of the Minster. We chose the tasty Breakfast Bap and Extras to be delivered to our room. Our hosts wereattentive and gave us a warm Yorkshire welcome.

We loved everything about this charming and quirky guest house. Check in was nice and early and so easy. Our room was spotlessly clean and we loved the retro "British Rail" decor - very clever! Breakfast is served in a wicker hamper to your door so you can choose to have breakfast in your room or in the dining area. We loved this idea! Toast, cereal etc available in the dining /lounge area too.Complimentary tea/coffee and cakes available throughout the day if you need them (great for bridging the mid afternoon munchies 😉) Our bed was super comfy and warm and the generous sized toiletries in the ensuite smelled amazing, with a choice to purchase on departure.Ideal location with most, if not all, attractions located within walking distance. The staff were very friendly and helpful and had time for a bit of a chat and we laughed every day with them. It is apparent that the owners have put a lot of love and thought into their guest house and we would not want it to change. Well done, guys! Oh, and yes, we will definitely be back.

Great place to stay and really conveniently located for most central York attractions. Room 1 resembles an old railway station with a comfortable bed, large shower room/toilet and ample beverages for a brew.The pre-order breakfasts are great and can be taken in your room or in the guest lounge with additional toast, cereals and drinks available.If it was dog friendly it would attract more guests…..just a thought!

We loved our stay at Minster Walk Guesthouse! Our room, 8 3/4, was a good size and so adorable. The hotel is in a great location—a short walk to the train station and the city center. The staff communicated early and sent updates in the months between booking and our arrival. Would definitely book again! Highly recommend!

We stayed at Minster Walk Guest House for three nights. It had everything we needed for our stay. Great room, fabulous breakfast in the room, pre-ordered. Comfortable place to sit downstairs too. Close to the centre and arranged parking for us during our stay so we didn't have that to worry about when we arrived. Had a pizza in the pub next door on our first night, BOGOF sunday evening, really good value. Definitely would use the Guest House again when we visit again.

Absolutely loved our stay here made us feel welcome from start to finish really well presented and clean hotel everything thought of and catered for we loved the finishing touches like the breakfast baskets delivered to our room absolutely beautiful my wife couldn’t stop smiling at how pretty it was presented and tasted amazing. The decor in our room which was room 4 was spot on loved it from the beams on the ceiling to colour of the room the shower was amazing and the bed soooo comfy had a great sleep.The staff were great and friendly made you feel very welcome. We visit york twice a year and have never stopped in the same hotel twice but will definitely be visiting here again

This was a great find, perfectly located for York centre.The shared areas are quirky and comfortable, and we were immediately made to feel at home.The bedroom (no1) looked as if it had been recently updated, with a huge bed and a lovely bathroom.Breakfast was very generous.Highly recommended!

Lovely stay in a beautiful little guest house in the middle of York. The accomodation is quirky and fabulous. The host is thoughtful and generous with sweet treats and a truly delicious breakfast.

We had a lovely couple of nights here, arriving early to hear that the room was ready for us, so we were able to offload our luggage immediately.The staff were really welcoming, and the room (8 3/4) was very comfortable. The room was well stocked with tea and coffee facilities (biscuits included).We really enjoyed breakfast in bed by having our breakfast basket delivered to the room, a fabulous idea for those not wanting to rush in the morning.The guest house is in a fantastic location, with a lovely walk through the museum gardens to reach the city centre.

This guest house was superb!Great location near the rail station, friendly staff, lovely sitting area.My room was a small one at the top of the stairs, but so well decorated and arranged. I had a lovely stay and Minster Walk. Very happy with my room and how clean and large is was. Great location. Enjoyed my breakfast and was pleased to be able to get gluten free bread. Had a great dinner at the pub/restaurant right next door. Hope to return here and stay again.

My Wife and I, along with two clse friends had a wonderful time in Your. Minster Walk Guest House is simply wonderful. Every little detail is thought of and nothing is too much trouble.We loved relaxing in the lounge after and hard day / evening sightseeing.We all has a wonderful time and highly recommend!!

Ideal location for a short break, walking distance of Minster, city centre, river, station and railway museum. Room well equipped and comfortable with excellent recently refurbished large shower room plus view of the west front of the Minster. Good, tasty breakfast which we had in communal dining/lounge area set up and delivered by Emma who was friendly and helpful.Downside was the noise from the pub next door, load voices and some swearing into the late evening. Also some confusion over pre arranged parking permit as system had changed since our booking which had not been communicated to us, quickly and helpfully sorted by the owner Ruth over the phone but cause a stressful arrival.

This Guest House is Amazing, So close to all ameneties, it was like stepping back in time with the funishings etc...it was fabulous ..the best guest house i have ever stayed in, The Beds & the Rooms are Immaculate. & are so comfortable, i had the best sleeps in a long time..The breakfasts was great too,having a choice of Cereals, Toast,Also the cooked food waswas lovely, all wrapped up & placed in baskets & brought to our table .it was so cute..lovely... We only stayed a couple of days but will defintely be staying longer next time ...TINA & CHRIS..

Short break to see the sights of York.Perfect location.Easy to find and leave your behind and stroll to all the central attractions. Accommodation provided everything you needed. Very helpful and good quality breakfast basket each morning. Would recommend.

Every person who runs a guesthouse should be made to stay here to see how it's done. A welcoming homely space with personal touches throughout, modern fittings intersperse beautifully with the historic building, with a view across to the minster from the rooms at the front. Very comfortable bed, and the optional breakfast in bed (at no extra charge!) HAS to be experienced. Book this place now.

Everything was great! The room was inspiring.I wanted to take home everything that was there.The common area was Intimate gothic design, I didn't want to go out, I just wanted to sit there all day. They thought of every detail. And everything extremely clean.

We enjoyed our two nights at the Minster Walk. Parking was easy, and the neighborhood was quiet, ensuring a restful night of sleep. Our room was beautifully decorated and comfortable. We loved starting our day with a freshly made breakfast that we selected from the menu provided at the Inn. A short walk and we were at The Minster and in the middle of all that York offers!

Myself and a few lads visited York for a little trip away, and I happened to find Minster Walk Guest House on booking.com. The location was fantastic for a start, the check in & check out was smooth and the room itself was brilliant! The room provided character, it was spacious and also really clean. I would highly recommend visiting and I would defiantly book again!

I could not fault or stay was very cleanand quirky deco .many little extras tuck shop and help your self tea and biscuits after a evening out. was lovely breakfast was a lovely basket with everything you could want all fresh you could eat in bedroom or if you preference in lounge. My friend and I were enormously impressed by this guesthouse. It was very clean and comfortable. Thought had clearly gone into the details which made us feel cared for and quite at home. There was a sense of generous hospitality in the provision of tea, coffee and cake. Thought had gone into making it feeling very linked to its location (e.g. locally made chocolate bars) and the breakfast hamper was not only delicious but a great solution to the challenges of covid. We were really sorry to only stay one night and are already talking about a longer return visit! Thank you to all who made our stay so super.

Gorgeous quirky little find in the heart of York. You'd be hard pressed to find something that offers the same level of comfort and which goes that little bit further to make the stay one that stands out above the rest, from the honesty bar,book loan and sweetie station it really did impress us. Room 6 for our family of 4 was absolutely perfect and totally gorgeous and more lovely than we expected on booking. We will hopefully be back one day. Thanks!

Lovely guesthouse just outside the city walls. We had their smallest room which was large enough. Perfect for Harry Potter fans without being in your face. Breakfast was lovely.

We highly recommend this guest house.Quirky and spotless our room was based on a cinema theme. The breakfast hamper was amazing. Everything from the tea and coffee to the toiletries was of such a high standard. We loved it all and will definitely return if we're to visit York again.

What an absolute joy, right smack bang in the perfect location for us, a lovely entrance beautiful room and fantastic staff behat more could we have asked for. 100% we will be recommending our family and friends to pay them a visit.

This place is a little gem, beautiful hotel, service excellent. Lots of little quirky items including reading and games corner, sweets, breakfast hampers (which were delicious) and a mix of old world decoration and new contemporary. The bar did an awesome expresso martini and although we didn’t eat the pizza menus looked awesome, I was actually gutted we had booked somewhere else as the menus had more vegan options than the place we had booked. Highly recommend this place for couples, friends and families.

Excellent location , near city centre,river walks. Large car park at the bottom of the road, pub next door. On arrival instructions with room key waiting for you, unfortunately sign for rooms very small, room rather small but good view of minster and bed comfortable. Room could get rather hot but fan provided to assist. Breakfast very good, delivered to your room. Wouldstay again.

Room we had (#7) was lovely and quite comfortable, with nice bathroom amenities. Breakfast was included with our stay, which was quite convenient for us. Staff are very friendly and price was very reasonable. Just be warned of these two things, in case it matters to you:1. No lift - too old to have one, and we were on the 2nd (top) floor, so had to lug our luggage up several flights2. No Air Conditioning - might be an issue on warm days; we visited during a heatwave in July, though they did give us a fan to compensate

Stayed here with my boyfriend for one night tocelebrate my 25th birthday. Check-in was so easy,we got a text with the passcode to the front doorand just picked up our keys when we arrived. Westayed in room 4 which was a superior minster viewroom and it was gorgeous. Huge bed, lovelytoiletries and selection of teas, coffee & hotchocolates. And they left some sweets as a littletreat for my birthday!We parked at a friends house nearby so not sureon the parking but such an easy location to walkinto town (about 8 minutes through the museumgardens or along the river).Check-out is 10 which was slightly earlier than wewould have liked but it was made manageable bythe delicious breakfast hamper brought to ourbedroom.Would 100% recommend staying here for a specialoccasion!

Can’t really criticise anything with this holiday. Everything ready for us,very clean, location so close to town itself, which is so unspoilt and compact, you can walk pretty well everywhere. The idea of breakfast being brought to your room seemed odd, but in fact works very well, you don’t have to get up and dressed before you eat. Finally all the staff were cheerful and helpful, special mention of Lisa who was so good dealing with a particular situation that we had before coming. All in all, we can thoroughly recommend Minster View Guest house to everyone.

This little hidden gem is perfect For a getaway in York. I brought my15y/o son with me and had a delightful stay. The room itself is very posh and clean. The owner and Staff are delightful and very helpful. parking is very close. Definitely would love to stay again. Also right across the way is a lovely park and York Minster just a short walk away. The area feels very safe . There is also a pub that serves pizza and some other food right next door.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Minster Walk Guest House. The room was very clean and comfortable and it was so good to have the use of the guest’s fridge and have fresh milk for our tea. We had a beautiful experience. The guest house was close to a park, as well as the city center. It was an easy walk from the train station. When we arrived check-in was a breeze and the room we had was so beautiful. We had two connecting rooms and a beautiful bath tub that had a view of the cathedral. The room also had a fun Harry Potter theme, which we loved! It was very tasteful. In the mornings, you could request breakfast be delivered to your room and we had delicious sausage baps and juice delivered. It started our days on a great note. The only thing we wish we could change, would be we wished we had more time!! It was such a wonderful place to stay and we will be back!

I stayed with my husband and college aged kids, one who loves Harry Potter. We were able to secure the 8 3/4 and 8 rooms. Very compact and full of fun furniture! But if your looking for a room to stretch out in these are not the ones. The Inn Keepers were very kind and helpful with storing our bags before and after check out. Breakfast delivered to our door was nice-simple. The yogurt option was amazing! Location was perfect. So close to everything-especially the park.

Perfectly located, the room is actually fitting the spirit of York. Very nice and helpful staff.

Great location and excellent breakfast.Room was a bit small, the bedding had some stains unfortunately and there was a lightbulb missing.Large fan provided which was ideal in the warm weather.The small toilet/basin room would benefit from a wall mounted towel rail as we both kept kicking the oversized towel holder.Very good toiletries provided, could use a shelf in the shower to hold them.

Hubby and I stayed for 3 nights for our anniversary and couldn’t have been happier. Room was clean and comfortable, with tea & coffee tray refreshed daily. All stuff were extremely friendly and helpful. Location is great, 5 minutes walk into the city and is up the road from the river. Would definitely visit again. Oh and pub next door if great too!

This hotel is bijou and very charming. The location is literally a stone's throw from key places to see in York. The room was characterful, well equipped and yet very modern with great bedding and classy toiletries. Lovely breakfast served in a hamper to your room. If you want something a little special and bespoke rather than a generic hotel room then this is for you. Our double room was a little snug in size but this took nothing away from the enjoyment. I would go back again.

Clean,comfortable rooms but with the added magic of wizards, spells and secret doors. A treat to be able to have breakfast brought to you in your room but we liked to come and sit in the cozy lounge area. We really appreciated the plentiful supply of games, perfect to unwind and sit together as a family after a day of exploring York. This stay was for a special birthday so the welcome set up in the room really was lovely. All the little touches too did not go unnoticed, from the excellent choices of teas, coffees and hot chocolate to the sweet treats. Thank you to the helpful and friendly staff team.

A lovely bnb situated very close to the museum and York minster. Eclectic furnishings. Lovely spacious family room, bright and quiet. Granola, compote and yoghurt sufficient. Our only quibble was the stairs are narrow and steep so it was difficult to bring down a suitcase. Otherwise had a great stay. A very pleasant lady booked our taxi to the airport. Would definitely recommend.

I Booked this guesthouse for a few days visiting York for my wife and twin sisters birthday room was very clean and well decorated with plenty of toiletries provided you get the option of your breakfast been delivered in a basket to your room or go downstairs, breakfast is chosen the night before and list left in drop off box. Staff very helpful and friendly nothing is a problem overall this is a very well kept guesthouse and would definitely stay here again if visiting York

We enjoyed a lovely stay here whilst visiting York for the Jubilee Bank Hol. It’s a quirky place - very much a one off - and would highly recommend it. The location is excellent, being roughly a 5/10 min walk from the river/York city. There’s a lovely pub just a few yards away (Minster Inn) and just so much to see and do. We did a river cruise which was lovely and highly recommend afternoon tea at Betty’s - this was a must and one of our main reasons for visiting York. Minster Walk was extremely comfortable with everything you could possibly need. Rooms were well equipped and the bed was so comfy. Breakfast is delivered to your room which we really liked. It made a nice change and we’d definitely book to stay here again. Couldn’t fault it.

Myself and my partner stayed here for one night during our recent trip to York. Our room was ready on our arrival and welcome pack was waiting. Great complimentary refreshments in reception area. Room was spotless and lovely view.Breakfast was spot on!!! We chose to have the breakfast hamper in bed and this was a real treat. Location is also excellent for the city centre. Would certainly stay here again in the future.

We stayed here for 1 night on a Saturday as a nice night away for my husbands birthday. From start to finish the communication, check in and check out were fantastic. We arrived early and our Room was ready so we could check straight in which was excellent as it meant we could freshen up and head out to explore. We were in Room 3, which was compact, but the bed was huge and so comfortable, the room had everything you would need for a night away including a hairdryer, toiletries, plenty of tea, coffee, milk and chocolate biscuits and there was a bag of sweets left on the bed also. The staff kindly gave my husband some chocolate also for his birthday. The only negative of this room was the toilet is so close to the sink, I am not very tall but my husband did struggle a little with this and the electric shower isn't the most powerful. Breakfast the next morning in the hamper delivered to your door was such a treat and you get so much! I was delighted that they could cater for my dairy intolerance and the granola with the dairy free yoghurt was lovely, the location and the quality of what you get for your money is brilliant and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or stay here again.

Nice quality accommodation within a stones throw of the city centre on a quiet back street.We had three nights in room four at this friendly B&B. Clean, comfortable and a view of the Minster.Bed was top quality and we had a good nights sleep.The breakfast basket we were not a fan of. Nothing wrong with it at all but I would have preferred more choice and a dining room. Overall good value and the pub next door was excellent.

A charming little piece of heaven. Quirky, quiet and comfortable. I slept like a log (and that just doesnt happen in hotels). Woke up to a proper cup of tea; a powerful shower and a delicious fresh bacon and sausage bun delivered to my door. I had a very challenging all day meeting ahead of me with 14 people and - honesty - i put the success of that meeting down to the fact that i’d slept so well and been so well cared for. I feel the owners of this place really care that their guests feel looked after. The toffee crisp on the tea mug? Love it. Love it.

We stayed in the minster view room. This little gemIs down a quiet street but right round the corner from EVERYTHING.The roomwas quaint and cute with a modern bathroom. We were lucky we had beautiful weather so sat having a cuppa with the little sash window was lovely.Breakfast is a help yourself affair which you can choose to eat downstairs or in your room. You place your order for other items (pastries, juices, yoghurt and breakfast baps) A picnic basket is prepared for you and brought to your door.We chose to eat cereal Downstairs then took our picnic hamper up to our room to eat the rest there by the window listening to the piece and quiet.Would not hesitate to return to this little haven.We loved every second of our stay here

We loved our stay at the Minster Walk Guest House. We were able to check in early in the day. Parking was sorted for us. The guest house and staff were very welcoming and very helpful when our car would not start on departure. Our room was full of character, immaculately clean and with a brand new bathroom.Breakfast was delicious and snacks were available during the day if needed.It was also a prefect location for exploring the city on foot. We would definitely stay there again.

What a fabulous Guest House Minster Walk is, great location, it was a little walk just outside of the city centre, long stay car park close by,it was perfect if you wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle and stay in a quieter area of the city, its located just off the museum gardens. Our breakfast arrived at our bedroom door, after pre ordering, in a lovely basket, freshly cooked baps, granola a must try, absolutely delicious! it was like having breakfast in bed each morning, or if you preferred there is a sitting area downstairs. It is such a welcoming place with books and games if the weathers not great, lots of useful city information, very well supplied tuck shop too! The rooms very stylish, loved the quirky decor!!! My only criticism is that we stayed in room 6 with my two children, it only had one tiny wardrobe in the smaller part or the room that houses 2 single beds, the other end is a lovely 4 poster king size bed but there was no where to hang your coats or any clothes, i.e. dresses,or a suitcase rest so we lived out of the suit case on the floor, but, apart from that tiny flaw it was perfect, spotlessly clean. What a lovely wee building! The bathroom was impeccable with a claw foot bathtub which had views looking out to the Minster, and all the toiletries were supplied from a UK based business. The attention to detail in the decor was second to none and you can always spot a new little nook or detail while in the hotel. It was wonderfully eclectic and traditional with exposed beams while also being open, airy, and bright.We got a delightful breakfast hamper that was delivered in the morning in a gorgeous wee wicker basket, with freshly cooked breakfast buns, yoghurt granola, juice in the loveliest little glass bottles, and freshly baked pastries. The breakfast options are wonderful and cater to vegan and gluten free diets. Could not recommend this place more - thank you for such a lovely stay!

It's very relaxing nice to be able to sit in the lounge with all the things to do so quite you were all so friendly It's like home from home loved having breakfast in bed. A beautiful, cosy room with a view of the York Minster (a perfect bedtime reading spot as our daughter said), beyond convenient location a stone throw away from all key historical landmarks, and, above all else, the incredibly welcoming and generally lovely guesthouse staff. Wonderful interesting decor and friendly staff. I stayed for a solo trip in the standard single room for 2 nights. I found the room very comfortable and had all the amenities should someone need them. I appreciated the attention to the fact that I am vegan, therefore soy milk and vegan snacks were provided in the room instead. Breakfast baskets were a delightful treat in the mornings.The seating area downstairs by reception looks a great place to play games and have a cuppa/drink in the eve - if you travelled with others. Nevertheless I found it great for a simple sit down between touring the city!Everything was clean and tidy. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

Very satisfied with Minster Walk Guest House. Cute little lobby / guest area downstairs. Our room was unexpectedly Harry Potter themed, which was quite fun. Breakfast could have used some eggs but the yogurt was delicious and the fresh cooked sausage and bacon baps were very tasty.

So delighted we were able to stay at Minster Walk Guest House. It is in an excellent location, with lovely and welcoming rooms. The team were so friendly, breakfast superb and the bottle of fizz a surprising. Thank you for a perfect experience.

Fantastic place just outside the city walls. Literally a two minute walk and you are outside York Minster. The room was very clean and the bed was so comfy. No noise at nighttime. Fantastic breakfast brought to your room in a wicker basket. Will definitely stay here again

We stayed here for 3 nights and the guest house is great.Minster Walk is quirky and decorated with dark walls,exposed beams and brickwork which enhances its old features.The location is great, 5 minutes walk into York and is very quiet at night. There is also a great pub next door servingtasty pizza, with vegan options too.The room we stayed in (the family room) was very clean and large with a comfortable four poster bed and 2 single beds in a separate area.There is a large tv and there was plenty ofdrinks and snacks to choose from.The new bathroom was great, although no bath.The breakfast was good with toast and cereal being served downstairs and a hamper delivered to your room with a sausage bap,yoghurt, fruit compote and granola pot and fruit juice (vegan options if specify beforehand).The staff are friendly and helpful.We fully recommend and would stay here again.

I have now being going to this lovely B&B for almost 10 years for my annual March trip to York.All Rooms have been recently redecorated to a really high standard.Rooms always clean, breakfast options are varied and all are tasty, you can either have it delivered to your room or eat in the lounge.

We stayed for one night and had a wonderful experience! The staff, room, breakfast hamper and ambiance were great, we couldn't fault any part of our stay. We will definitely be returning.

Although we arrived after the staff had left the query re parking was immediately answered by phone and all instructions took us smoothly to our comfy room which had so many cute decorations- I looked longily at the leather cases under the table!It was so quiet overnight despite being in the heart of the city it was slightly eerie!Breakfast in the morning was cutely served in a basket, was tasty and served with a friendly face.Our stay was to visit Roots just down the road, but MW definitely increased our city visit.

Had a lovely overnight stay at Minister Walk Guest House.Bed was queen size, lovely and comfortable and bedding was divine.Room faced into street with a view of the Minster, but it wasn’t noisy. Slept with window open.Breakfast was quirky in that you got a hamper of breakfast food - lots of choice, and you could have this downstairs or in your bedroom.The chance to buy some snacks, or have a cake bar anytime during your stay is a nice idea when you are feeling a bit peckish.Would definitely stay here again.

We had a very comfortable 2 night stay at the minster walk guest house. It’s a great location and we managed to secure a parking space for both nights which wasn’t too far away. Our room was upgraded complimentary and it was lovely and spacious and clean. Beautiful bathroom and some lovely detail in the decor. Breakfast was delivered by hamper both mornings and was presented beautifully. It also tasted great! All staff were very pleasant and we felt very comfortable there. Would highly recommend!

Couldn’t ask for more superb location. We parked in Mary gate car park cost us £27 & we where there for 2 nights so would recommend that. Absolutely lovely break away we will definitely be back.

We had a lovely three-night stay. The room itself (Minster View Room) was a little small as we had a fair amount of luggage from previous travel. But the bed was the most comfortable we've ever slept in, and the location was absolutely ideal. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to others!

This guest house is centrally located so a short stroll to the station and into the city centre.The room we had was beautifully presented, very clean and well equipped.It had an on suite shower room with toiletries supplied, hair dryer, kettle with tea, coffee and biscuit snacks.Breakfast is available in the lounge area which consists of cereal, croissants, toast, tea and coffee.Hot food is ordered by 7am and is delivered to your room.The people are lovely and friendly.I will definitely stay there again.

Lovely B&B close to the city center and the excellent Minster Inn. I travel to York a handful of times a year for work and can't imagine I'll stay elsewhere going forward. The bacon and sausage bap was great as well.

Absolutely gorgeous guesthouse in the centre of York. We stay here for five nights to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and was given a room upgrade and there was alsoa bottle of bubbly waiting for us on our arrival.Everything was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Great shower and lovely complimentary toiletries. There were also complimentary drinks and biscuits/ cakes available in the cosy beautifully decorated lounge. Breakfast was great and delivered to the room in a basket. Everything about our stay was first class and would definitely recommend staying here.

Wow. We’ve stayed at this guest house twice now and we returned again as our first experience was so good. On the second visit the customer service is second to none.We celebrated our silver wedding anniversary and there was a complimentary bottle of fizz waiting for us.The ladies that work there are very friendly.We’ve stayed elsewhere in York but never had the same customer experience. This was our first time inYork, and we decided to stay at Minster Walk. The whole experience from booking the room and checking in was so easy. The room was fantastic and spotless, the breakfast hampers were really unique and tasty. The staff were very friendly and engaging. The location of the guesthouse is ideal, we will be definitely be coming back to stay.

Lovely bed and breakfast just outside the city walls. Clean and comfortable with a breakfast hamper delivered by 8.30am. They have some available car parking but if that is not available the Marygate car park is 2 minutes away.

My cousin and I went for a 3 day getaway. We were lucky to upgrade to the Harry Potter room free of charge, The room was epic with stunning views of the minster from the roll top Bath, room was clean and staff friendly too. Also it was in a great location.

We found the room well presented, clean and comfortable. The location is easy for the centre of York and a reasonably priced car park nearby.

We absolutely loved this place. My wife and I spent her 40th here, and we are so impressed we are planning a return trip. The rooms are spotless and well presented, and the facilities are all there.The guest house is next door to a pub that sells real ales and pizza, and is no more than a five minute walk from York Centre and all the facilities there.Can not recommend this place enough.

The staff were very welcoming our room was ver cosy with a welcoming drink and mince pie The large Queen bed was very comfortable waking with breakfast delivered to your door . Couldn’t pick a better location. Shops are a minute down the road and the guest house is lovely. Hampers were such a good idea! A bit loud at night but can’t expect much else in a city.

Unbelievably glad i came across this place. Everything about my experience was excellent. Easy to find, great location, the friendliest staff and beautiful room!The room we stayed in was so homely and comfortable it didn't even feel like a hotel room! We have just returned from 2 nights at Minster Walk and were very pleased that we chose to stay here. Booking was very straightforward and communication from the hotel was excellent, with all the information we needed to get there and what to expect when we arrived. There were small touches that made all the difference, the small lounge area is well equipped with free tea and coffee and cakes which you can access at any time. The room we had was on the top floor, and although not large, had everything to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable, and had a fine view of York Minster. I would definitely stay here again.

The bed was so comfortable and the bedding/pillows superb. Breakfast was a real treat, delivered to your room, great choices. Sherry and mince pies in our room to greet us, thank you it was very welcomed on such a cold day. The whole place is fabulous, we wish we had booked for more than one night. The lounge area with mulled wine, tea, coffee, mince pies and little chocolate cakes was a lovely thought. Even the fresh milk choices had oat milk, our favourite. Thank you for a wonderful stay. The Minster Walk was more than we expected. Immaculate, cosy and perfect location made our stay more than comfortable.The breakfast hamper in bed was a lovely touch!We have booked to return for next year.

We come to york every December for the Christmas shopping. Our usual hotel was booked so after searching we came across the minster walk guest house. We were blown away! We had a text just before we arrived advising what to do for check in and parking, which was easy to follow. The room (7) was beautiful! The breakfast hamper was a lovely touch. Everything about this place was just perfect. We will definitely be back next year.

Would highly recommend this guesthouse. The location was central, a short walk from the train station, and next door to a quaint little pub. Our room 8 and 3/4 was quirky, very clean comfortable and warm. We received a very friendly and warm welcome. Little extra finishing touches in the room made a really enjoyable stay. The breakfast hamper delivered to our room promptly each morning was excellent and a brilliant idea during these uncertain times due Covid-19.

Loved our stay at Minster Walk a fab quirky B&B we stayed in the family room at the top. Everywhere was clean and tidy staff were very welcoming and couldn’t do enough for you breakfast came in a basket can be enjoyed in your room or could have it downstairs. It’s all the little extra touches that golong way and have been thought about eg unlimited tea , coffee etc in room or downstairs , mince pies and biscuits after a long day in your mulled wine which was set on a timer so always warm for you if you feel a bit hungry there was a tuck shop with water, cans,chocolate , crisps all you do is put £1 per item in the honesty box provided great idea . In the room we where welcomed with mince pie and glass of Sherry as well as unlimited tea,coffee etc biscuits left everyday . Lovely products in bathroom so you don’t need to take any shower,shampoo etc.Minster Walk have thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable will definitely be booking again and recommending to everyone 2 min walk into York but still in a quiet part off city.So glad we found this little gem

Lovely room with a view of the minster. Complimentary sweet mince pie and sherry was a nice touch. No fried breakfast on a morning but the sausage and bacon sandwich delivered to the room in a nice picnic basket was very nice. Nice comfortable cosy room. On the bad side Bathroom window needs a blind and one of the bedside lamps was coming apart also internet kept dropping out so tv kept freezing.I Think being a little cheeper would have been better.

Location was ideal for a shopping trip, and the Guest House was an absolute delight.The little touches matter here and there were plenty of them, little glass of sherry and mince pie to welcome us was just the start.Lovely room and a good breakfast was brought to us in a hamper, you could eat this downstairs and help yourself to cereal and toast but we had enough in our hamper.The staff without exception were helpful and friendly and added to our enjoyment of this short break in the lovely city of York.Thank you.

This place is just beautiful and so full of charm, the staff go above and beyond to make sure you’re having a good stay. The room was immaculate, comfortable beds and amazing bathroom will all the amenities you could possibly need. On arrival to our room there were mince pies and mulled wine which was a lovely touch. Situated close to the city centre, guest house lovely and homely and rooms very clean and love the nice touch with the sherry and mince pies. rooms warm and beds to die for, thoroughly enjoyed. Only one comment is when advertising rooms please stipulate which level they are on, we were in a beautiful room 7 up two flights of stairs, and for two disabled people with luggage that was a chore, we had to plan our evening so we didn't do the stairs much

All the staff were very friendly and welcoming, made you feel at home. The room was good, nice big comfortable king size bed. Please of tea,coffee etc. and toiletries. Good location for city centre. One drawback is limited parking. Being a very busy weekend it took us ages to find a parking space.

One night stay, four poster family room 6. Firstly really easy parking arrangements, downstairs area, very relaxed sitting room lots of homely touches.Room was lovely bed very comfortable and long enough if you are 6ft plus!, wifi was good TV good reception and you can log in if you have an account with Netflix, Disney+ etc.Bathroom was gleaming with a huge towel rail. Breakfast was really good using lots of good quality ingredients super convenient for city centre five minutes away. All in all a lovely relaxing stay thank-you 10 out of 10.

We had a really great stay at Minster Walk guest house. Parking was easy and it is just a short distance into the main heart of York it's self. The rooms were lovely and breakfast was great.Overall great experience

We really enjoyed our 3-nights stay at the Minster Walk Guest House; especially waking up to a view of the majestic Minster and our pre-ordered breakfast basket being delivered personally to our room each morning. Very friendly welcome from our lovely hosts and we felt at home from the start. Our superior room was homely, comfortable and spotless with a super king size bed and a table and chairs by the window where we could enjoy our breakfast. The shower room was very new and modern, but with the bright ceiling lighting at night we felt that a suitable blind or curtain of some sort on the lower part of the window at least would have afforded us more privacy from the road below.There was a generous supply of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, milk and cakes/biscuits in our room, these being topped up regularly. It would be nice if the bedside lamps in our room were a tad brighter as the (un-dimmable) ceiling lights were a bit too bright, and the bedside lamps a bit too dim to find a happy medium - just minor things as we do love the place and will be back again as soon as we can - unless you, dear reader, beat us to it after reading this review!

After a challenging few months we needed a change of scene. Minster Walk certainly supplied it, we loved everything about it, great location to see York, fabulous decor, comfy beds and gorgeous toiletries. Plus it was super clean and cosy. The breakfasts and staff were delightful. Would certainly recommend it.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed. Comfortable bed, great shower, and the locatiom couldnt be better. On a quiet street, but so close to center of York. I look forward to a return stay when back in the UK

We arrived and from that point everyone was friendly and the accommodation was lovely. Location is perfect a 5 min stroll to York Minster and the shops. Breakfast was given in a hamper if you wanted this option. Not a full English cooked breakfast but a very enjoyable well packed breakfast bun or continental etc. If your looking for a really great location with lovely room and bath etc look no further than Minsters walk very pleased with our choice. Parking was also great as Minster has some spots just around the corner for £10 per day we never used the car once parked up so felt this was a very handy option and well worth the extra. You can pull up outside both to unload and again to load up. 👌👏😊

Last minute decision to visit York didn't give us as much time as we usually take to research and plan a trip but our instant decision on Minister Walk Guest House was a blessing! Perfect location - we saw the whole city and didn't need car for two days! Parking at public car park 3 minute walk away (We didn't pre book Guest House on road parking permit £10 a day.)Delightfully appointed railway themed room was perfect. Would consider booking privately next time(to be able to choose another themed room). Well thought out, mingle free breakfast options are delicious! Christmas market is being set up at present and looks wonderful! York is a beautiful city - highly recommend Minister Walk Guest House for this city break!

Lovely quirky B&B close to the Minster and gardens. Our room was themed like a railway carriage, lovely power shower and nice touches such as tea, coffee and biscuit in your room. Tea and coffee were available in the lounge along with biscuits, another nice little touch!Breakfast hamper was delivered to your room and you can chose to dine in the lounge area which we did and preferred too!Very friendly and attentive staffthank you. We wil stay again!!

We all had a very enjoyable stay. Staff were extremely helpful. Would suggest a couple of chairs placed in the room as there were 3 of us and only one stool so other two had to sit on the bed. Lighting could also be approved as quite dark.

We arrived at the guesthouse just after lunch just to drop off bags and park but out room was already ready for check in …. Greeted by Lisa who was ever so helpful we was shown to our room ( room 2 ) on the ground floor. It was a cute theatre teamed room with old fold down theatre seats, a huge comfy bed , hanging space for clothes and lovely tea & coffee making facilities. Lovely selection of tea inc fruit green roibush and earl grey - coffee - decaf & hot chocolate with chocolate bars !!Lovely welcome pack with pre order forms for the breakfast hamper that will be delivered to your room or you can have it in the lounge area of the guesthouse with more toast and cereal option. The breakfast baps are either sausage or bacon or both and are delicious 🤤!!! Very tasty sausage and you can have pastries, granola yoghurt and juices !!!! All included in the price .The bathroom of the room is something else …. Huge with walk in shower and roll top bath and free complementary shampoo and shower gel …. Even body lotion .The bed was amazing and so was the stay !!! Will definitely book again as it’s the ideal location to walk into the town centre…. Great little find with a great teamThank you 😊

Our first time here and we loved it. It’s very quirky and different with bags of personality. Even more so at the moment with all the hallowe’en decorations. We had room 5 which is great as it has a separate toilet room to shower room which meant no steamed up mirrors when applying make up. The bed was really comfy too. The breakfast delivered in a basket was such a nice way to tackle distancing issues. Lovely people who gave us a warm welcome and departure. Highly recommended.

Upon arrival, it's got all sorts of quirky, vintage memorabilia which lets you know that this place is a little bit different - but in a great way.The character of the place continued in our railway themed room which was immaculate, very comfortable, all mod cons and great value for money.Would definitely recommend.

I can highly recommend Minster Walk Guest House. The location is superb, close to the inner city on a very charming street. My room was very quiet, as I had hoped for, and the people working there were both kind, charming and helpful.

Yummy breakfast options, the only thing I would say is that we would have preferred to choose the time of breakfast drop off- 8am is very early when on holiday!! We booked the 8 and 8 3/4 room which consists of a single and double in one room and a double in the other room with an adjoining door, each room has their own bathroom.The rooms were spotlessly clean, beds were EXTREMELY comfy, fab choices of tea, coffee and hot chocolate with a biscuit chocolate bar too.The Minster Walk is at a fab location for York, with a 5 minute walk to the centre. With a car park literally down the road.Breakfast was yummy and served to our room!All in all, me and my family had a great time at the Minster Walk, we would definitely return and recommend to family and friends!Nicola xx

Location, location location - BRILLIANT! HUGE BED! (Rm 4). Great shower, ample wardrobe space and drawers. Lounge and guest space was just great.Breakfast was lovely and so nice to have it delivered to your door, no rush to get dressed. We enjoyed our granola, yoghurt and bacon bap in our room (small table x 2 chairs). There is nothing not to recommend about the Minster Walk. But we think the bathroom window could do with a blind? couldn't help think our outline could be seen from the street? A big thank you to Lisa, Emma and Ruth. Sorry about the key lol lol lol. T xxxx

We stayed here for 3 nights from 27/09/21.Before booking i contacted the Guesthouse. directly as I had specific requirements. Everyone i dealt with were extremely helpful and accomodating. Thecommunication was spot on. We arrived after the staff had finished for the day, but they left a lovely welcome letter so we knew exactly what to do.The lounge was cosy and quirky and the ground floor bedroom was lovely. The bathroom with the roll too bath was fantastic. And I don't think I've ever slept in a comfier bed. So much so that we are considering buying a similar mattress !!! The breakfast delivery to our room was great, and meant we could take our time getting ready to go out exploring. The sausages come highly recommended. The whole place was very clean and the tea/coffee/cake area was a nice touch.We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Minster Walk Guesthouse, and whenever we visit York again, we absolutely will book here.

We stayed for one night mid week.It’s a small guesthouse and very clean and tidy.Lot of extra special touches ie games, books etc in the reception area and a nice seating area to relax before you go back to your room.Breakfast was ordered the night before and hand delivered to your room in the morning in a lovelyHamper.Parking is just down the next street and just £10 so we’ll worth it.There is a main car park adjacent and that cost is £4.80 for a couple of hours after we had checked out.Close to everything really.We often go to York and will definitely book here again.

We stayed in room 6 which was very clean and comfortable, the service was first class and the staff always had a smile for us and were very helpful.basket breakfast was different, but it meant the Mrs didn't have to do her her to go down for breakfast !!if there was anthing : the noise from the beer garden next door went on until well after midnight ( but people must enjoy themselves) will we come again of couse.

We stayed in a Superior double room, which was lovely if a bit small. It had a lovely, big, comfortable bed with lovely comfortable bedding. The bathroom was small but with a large walk in shower and was very clean and modern. Staff were very helpful and friendly. There’s a communal fridge in the reception area for guests which was very useful for our overnight stay. We also loved the fact that we could order a breakfast to be delivered to our door in a picnic basket so you don’t have to get dressed and go downstairs to eat! We would definitely stay here again. The only thing that let our visit down was the building work in progress at the back of the guest house which meant it was noisy from 7.30am.

A lovely quirky,but modern guesthouse situated in a quiet road,a short distance from the river. The park was opposite our guesthouse, which took you into the centre of town.Clean with comfortable, well equipped bedroom/en-suite. We enjoyed our overnight stay and would definitely return. Wow what a little gem. Great location, lovely friendly and helpful staff, nice little lounge area to relax and catch up with other travellers. Room was decorated in a railway theme and was lovely and clean, bed was verycomfortable and bathroom modern. Only negative thing we found was that some blinds would of been nice to add to some privacy as on the ground floor, but not a big issue. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Our stay at this guesthouse was everything we expected and more. From the moment we crossed the threshold until we collected our belongings the next afternoon, we felt welcomed, relaxed and well looked after. Our room was 8 3/4 with a lovely view of the Minster. It was clean, cosy and beautifully presented in a quirky, original style. The bath was luxurious and even though we only stayed one night, my daughter and I made sure to have two very bubbly baths during our stay! The beds were incredibly comfortable and we slept soundly. The real star of the show was the breakfast, which was served to our door in a wicker basket- delicious continental style breakfast with the option of brioche bun sausage or bacon rolls. The warm, fresh pastries were a delight. High quality orange juice was a real bonus.Perfectly situated for the York Minster, the York Art Gallery and the city centre, we found the guesthouse to be convenient and easy to locate. We were visiting York in order to see the city and the university for my daughter, and neither disappointed. The hospitality and welcome at this guesthouse truly made us feel secure and safe in a city that was foreign to us southerners! If my daughter chooses to go to York uni next year, my family will definitely endeavour to stay here again!

We stayed for our 40th Wedding anniversary and know York well.It was like visiting a wonderfully friendly family home, that just happens to have more bedrooms than most! The downstairs sitting room is so warm and welcoming at any time of day, with leather sofas and shelves full of games. The curios decorating every corner (almost) collected by Ruth are amazing!We stayed in room 4 (super king-sized bed) which had a view of a good part of the minster from our room and the sun shone in on to the small breakfast table situated in the window. Tea and coffee supplies were always kept topped up. The bed and pillows were obviously very high quality (expensive), being soooooo comfortable! We slept very well. A cooked Breakfast and danish pastries was served in a picknick basket left outside the room or you could take it downstairs and make your own toast and also enjoy the cerials. I could go on (and on) but you really do need to go and find out for yourself how great Minster Walk is. Oh I nearly forgot (how could I)?! The staff are wonderful - very knowledgeable about the area and so friendly and helpful - they are a credit to the Guest House! We will certainly stay again!!!

We stayed at Minster walk for the evening.We were really happy with the check in process as we were able to arrive whenever we wanted. A courtesy call was made to us to let us know they were on hand if we needed anything during our stay.I was initially a tad apprehensive about breakfast as it was a hamper delivered to the room however it was absolutely perfect and we would opt for this again if we could.The room was spacious and clean with all the amenities you'd need for an overnight stay.The staff were friendly and helpful and we would 100% recommend it as a lovely place to stay.

Had a lovely stay beds were comfy, the room was based on harry Potter which it made it quirky,10 min walk from the train station,and near the town centre definitely stay at this guest house again, the only little downside is it needed a small shelf or cabinet in the bathroom.

Lovely guest house and we really enjoyed our stay. Comfortable bed and a lovely room with a view to the Minster. Only 10 minutes from the railway station by foot and the Minster and the Shambles only about 10 minutes as well. Lovely breakfast delivered to our room every morning. I would recommend this place and looking forward to a return trip in the future.

B&B was located near train station and easy to find. Room was fine with nice view of the Minster. Breakfast was good with decent options and the common room was a nice quiet area to sit in and eat or just spend time in. Was allowed to leave bags there on day of check out which was also good. Overall no complaints, was a pleasurable experience

Visited last minute over bank holiday as our honeymoon has yet again been cancelled.Arrived at the guest house around 11am, was greeted by staff whom gave us a parking permit and told us where to park. Was told our room would be available much earlier than thought so after parking our car we took advantage of the free refreshments in the lounge before heading out into York for the day.On return our bags had been put in our room.Room was absolutely immaculate, comfy bed & everything you would need. We stayed in the Harry Potter themed room which my hubby absolutely loved.Very quiet during the night / morning. Breakfast brought to our room in a hamper. Again everything you could ask for including a hot sandwich, fresh pastries, juice, fresh milk etc. They had thought of everything.Would highly recommendas the location into town for shopping & a meal etc is fantastic. Will definitely be staying again but will bring our daughter next time who would love it all the same ??????Thank you so much again for making our mini moon a lovely experience

Such a lovely guest house! We were upgraded for free before we arrived just because one of the superior rooms wasn’t being used. The staff are lovely & helpful. Facilities and rooms were lovely, cosy and very clean. Breakfast was also lovely brought to us in a picnic basket and brought to our room in the morning.Fabulous guesthouse we will definitely be returning!

We only stayed one night. I wish it could have been longer.We arrived early and was met by Dean such a friendly guy. We left our luggage with Dean and when we got back our toom was ready and luggage in our room.The rooms are all themed differently. Ours reminded me of an old train carriage. It was so warm and comfortable.You are welcomed to help yourself to tea, coffee and cakes in the lounge 24hrs and a choice of breakfast delivered to your door or eat in the lounge.Luxurious toiletries - hand wash, body lotion, bodywash and shampoo are in the room along with hairdryer and there is an iron on the second floor. Tea/coffee making facilities along with kit kats, toffee Crisps instead of usual packed biscuits in the rooms if you don't want yo drink in the lounge area. This hotel is so quirky we loved it.Its the little extras that make it.You can prebook permit parking but if missed out there is a car park at the bottom of the street.We stayed in room one at the back on the ground floor, no view if the minster but that didn't bother us and it was so quiet. Can't wait to come back and try one of the other rooms.

Such a lovely place to stay, the bed was comfy, the room was really clean and the bath was amazing! So many nice little touches and in a perfect location, the only downside is that we couldn’t stay for longer. Definitely would recommend!

For a visit to York you couldn’t get a better location the staff were friendly and helpful and the room was great, forgot to check the brand of mattress as we had a great nights sleep. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

Lovely place, very relaxing. Our room was well equipped and the breakfast hamper was delicious. Lovely downstairs area to relax in. Very well paced for walking into York. Will most definitely return.

Our stay was flawless. The rooms are gorgeous. Beds exceptionally comfy with lovely linen. Bathrooms are modem and have a great shower. The young man that looked after us was very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was severed to the room in a basket or could be eaten in the lounge as our group did. The location is spot on. I can’t wait to return.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the guesthouse. We stayed for two nights in room 8 which had a medieval/Harry Potter kind of vibe. The room is up two flights of stairs (although not that many steps) and was of a good size. The paintwork in the room however was a little bit tatty as when we arrived we found a giant scrape along the wall where someone had obviously moved the bed or a suitcase or something but that’s easily rectified.Breakfast was ordered each day and bought to the room between 8-8:30am and was lovely. There was complementary tea/coffee and a few biscuits in the guest lounge and a tuck shop with an honesty box with chocolate, cans of drink etc for £1.The only downside was that the guesthouse isn’t manned in the evenings/serve food/have a bar, meaning that there wasn’t a huge amount of atmosphere and we ended up sitting in the guest lounge playing board games on our own most nights once we got back in from our days & meals out.Overall a very lovely stay and would recommend!

We’ve stayed at a lot of different lovely hotels in York but this is a new favourite. The facilities are excellent, including a well-stocked honesty tuck shop and vintage china with tea and coffee supplies in the traditional downstairs area. The hands off approach is what we enjoyed best, everything we needed and access when we wanted it. We had a high quality breakfast delivered to the door in a whicker basket each morning and enjoyed it at the window table overlooking the Minster and city walls. We saw staff in the mornings who were friendly and helpful. Little touches like umbrellas to borrow and a collection of books and games in the communal area make this a unique and delightful place to stay. We’ve already booked to stay again.

Perfect place to stay for a quick visit to York. The owners have though of everything to make your stay easy and comfortable. The property is full of character and has a very comfortable lounge area with books, games and local informationWe wound definitely book again

We have recently returned home from a 2 night stay. Couldnt fault it. Perfect location for the train station, a quick walk to Yorks tourist bits and a short taxi (other than traffic) to the racecourse.We had breakfast included which was a hamper at our door. The only thing I would have liked is a fridge in the room, this said there is a communal one for use if needed.Would happily stay there again.Thank you Lisa and team for everything.

Stayed here for 3 nights and couldn't ask for a better place to enjoy our visit to York. Staff were always so helpful and nothing ever seemed an issue when questions were asked. Room was really spacious, clean and very welcoming with all that was needed during our stay. The breakfast basket every morning was such a wonderful idea, with choices to eat in your room or in the main area of the guest house. We have recently returned home from our fantastic stay in beautiful York.Our base couldn’t have been better.From the moment we arrived we felt at home.Parking was easy and just around the corner with our own parking permit that Ruth gave us on arrival.Our room was ready and was just lovely. Beautifully decorated and extremely clean.We stayed with our 18 year old daughter and our 16 year old son and they loved it, especially the breakfast!Lots of Tea, Coffee and Hot chocolate in the rooms, a fridge in reception and a small tuck shop there too!In the bathroom ( which was super clean) there were large bottles of shower gel and conditioner and shampoo and body lotions, there was a selection of them downstairs If you wanted to take any back home with you which is fantastic.Only a short walk of 10 minutes into the mains streets of this glorious city of York, we loved it and will be staying at this guest house nearer Christmas to sample the Christmas markets.We highly recommend this place to stay.

We stayed in room 7 which is a triple room. Comfortable large bedroom, beds lovely, modern spacious bathroom. Breakfast being served in a picnic basket to the door which was really nice. Staff really friendlyand location is great as it’s a short walk to train centre and also the city centre. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

The Minster Walk Guest House is a lovely, quirky place to stay - full of character and perfectly situated to explore the city. Although small, our room was clean and cosy, and the Covid-safe breakfast was great.

A lovely little guest house only a 10 minute stroll along the riverbank into York centre, full of character and spotlessly clean! My husband and I stayed for one night to celebrate our wedding anniversary and really did feel that we had stayed somewhere special.The room was beautifully decorated, the bed was huge and very comfy and the en suite was perfect! We had a view of the Minster from our window which was lovely. A lovely touch was the fresh breakfast which arrived at our door in a basket. Parking just down the road is a bonus also.I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay if you are looking for somewhere special and close to the centre of York!

Can honestly say one of the nicest guest houses we have stayed in from the staff to location and cleanliness. The breakfast was also a lovely touch being brought to the room in a beautiful hamper. The location is perfect also. Can’t wait to stay again. Stacey Bartholomew

Great location 10min Riverside walk to lendal Bridge or 5min to minster. Quaint small guesthouse busy narrow road outside main door. However not a major inconvenience. Our room was adequate large comfortable bed and all amenities though a little tight for room. Lovely view of the minster. Very nice breakfast served hamper style in room. Clean and comfortable with attentive cheery staff. Enjoyable 3 night stay at a decent price.

We stayed for one night in room 5 - a Minster view room. The room was smaller than I was expecting but had everything we needed for a one night stay. The toilet and shower room looked brand new which was nice. We were celebrating a birthday during our stay and we were kindly left a birthday card and box of chocolates as a surprise gift. If I had any issue with our stay it would be about the time allocation for breakfast - between 8-8.30am. This is quite early if you have had a late night out! We would have much preferred a 9-9.30am option instead. Overall though, a lovely stay in a great location for exploring York.

The welcome you receive is warm and personal, the room was beautiful, four poster beds galore.Excellent shower room with great water pressure all presented stylishly and with those little touches (Minister Books) which make it so much more special.The breakfast basket was lovely with a nice choice, so nice not to get dressed to go to breakfast!The possibility to leave luggage was really appreciated as was the lounge area which was a great place to get together.10 minutes walk from the train station and less than five minutes from the city walls, I'd call this the ideal location.We will definitely be back - thank you for a lovely stay.

We received a phone call while travelling to say reception was closing but all our instructions and information were waiting for us, as-well as a selection of cakes and tea/coffee to help our selves. Situated perfectly next to the museum gardens and easy parking! This little gem of a guesthouse was gorgeous, from the entrance, the guest communal areas to the rooms and breakfast! Lovely big comfortable bed in a delightful decorated room! Little touches of biscuits and full big bottles of shampoo, shower gel. We ordered breakfast the night before, and it was delivered to our room. Very good choice of items, sausage baguette, yogurt granola, Danish pastries, tea, coffee and orange juice. Presented perfectly in a wicker picnic basket. Key code for entrance door to come and go as you please. Easy check out! We’ve stayed in York countless times and I can honestly say that if they’re not fully booked we’d stay here all over again! Thank you ????

Only stayed for one night but would definitely stay again clean and quirky but with every mod con the room was spacious and comfortable clise to city centre but tucked away so avoided the usual city centre noise staff were really friendly and helpful

We chose this hotel for its quaint quirkiness and close proximity to York centre. We were very happy with what we found, the location was within a short walk to town and most attractions. The staff/owners were very helpful and the rooms were clean.

The property location was excellent. Confusion over parking as no permit was left for us. Room very small but our stay was nice.

We’ll see you again and again for our annual visits to York, great location. We loved our morning breakfast hampers and were truly touched by your personal touches on our arrival. Thank you for your hospitality and creating this little gem. x

We stayed here for just the one night on a belated birthday weekend away and managed to bath the euro final while we were here ! The room was beautiful,comfy and clean and a lovely haven very central to all that York has to offer. Check in was very easy and the hosts were more than accommodating. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back again and would recommend to everyone

Stayed here with a group of friends for a 50th celebration.Guest house is spotless, very well thought out with lots of little quirks. Plenty of tea and coffee available along with a fridge to use downstairs (to keep the prosecco chilled:-) ).Literally 6 minute walk through beautiful gardens to the city. We will definitely stay here again and I would highly recommend.

A very pleasant stay! B&B very well located just 5 minutes walk from the Minster, room clean and bed comfortable, breakfast served in-room and delicious, staff very welcoming and receptive (kindly changing the duvet after first night too warm), and sitting area downstairs with games a nice little bonus. Only possible downside was that the room was quite small, but that's probably inevitable given the location. Many thanks!

We arrived on Monday for a 2 night stay. 2 adults and 3 teenagers. We had the beautiful suite at the top of the guest house - room 8 & 8 3/4.The rooms are beautiful, the whole guest house is stunning and you are looked after very well. This business is run with a very personal touch which you will feel from the moment you book, you arrive until you leave.The breakfast hamper delivered to your room was perfect. The sausage baguette was delicious, as was the mini pastries!We will 100% be back! 5-10 minute, easy walk from the train station. 2 minute walk and you are within the city walls and the heart of all activity.Thank you for a wonderful visit and hopefully it won’t be too long before we can visit again ??

York is full of lovely locations but the Minster Walk Guest House is in both a great location and in the perfect place from which to enjoy all that the city has to offer. The place if characterful and well done; the rooms very comfortable and everything is provided for the guest.I just had one night here but I would return for another visit.

This was our first time staying at the Minster Walk Guesthouse but I’m sure it won’t be our last. We couldn’t really fault anything about our stay. We were in Room 1 which was quirky and decorated well.There was no noise from other guests. The bed was huge and really comfy. There was a fan available in the room which was a huge bonus as it was a really humid evening. Plenty of options for hot drinks in the room as well as hot drinks and cakes being available in the snug area. Breakfast was delicious too! It’s perfect if your travelling by train is it is only a 10 min walk from the station and there is a car nearby if arriving by car!

Had a lovely stay here. The Guest House and room were great, clean, quiet and quirky. Dean was incredibly friendly and helpful. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, will be back, and would recommend it to others.

My friend and I have just had a three night stay at Minster Walk guest house.The walk up two flights of twisting stairs was worth the effort. We had a huge family room,with a large ensuite shower. The toiletries provided were of a high quality.The breakfast was brought to our room in a basket each day. The menu was limited but everything we had was delicious. Im sure when the restrictions lift there will be more choice.The staff were very helpful and we were pleasantly suprised to have our room serviced whilst we were there.We will certainly stay again, it's in the most convenient position for the railway station the centre of York etc.all within walking distance.We have been meeting in York for many years and this is certainly one of the best.

What a find . In fact I don't want to praise too much in case for our return it is booked up .Great location , helpfulness , quirky and comfortable .

We stayed here for 2 nights fri and sat. It was very welcoming, clean and close to the centre of York. Bed was very comfortable! We were left alone unless we needed anybody, but all queries were dealt with as soon as they arose. Very friendly hosts. Hope to return soon.

All the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean , great bed and lovely en suite. Our only fault which is no fault of the accommodation was that the noise from traffic and pedestrians was very noisy from very early in the morning. We would prefer a quieter room on our next visit.

Fantastic guest house. Worth every penny! This is our second stay and it never fails. Great location, extremely clean and stylish decor. Beautiful rooms and very comfy beds. The lounge area is great for relaxing and full of books, games, refreshments. We had a great view of the minster from our room and it’s lovely to hear the bells in the morning. Breakfast never fails and this time we had it delivered to our room to adhere to COVID restrictions and this was a great little treat, breakfast in bed. Lisa was extremely welcoming and friendly too. Can’t wait to come back again.

Had a fantastic stay at minster walk, lovely room very very clean, bed was sooo comfortable. Nice touches that went above & beyond...only gripe was a wee bit noisy from pub next door. On a warm night ye need the window open so couldn’t avoid.. but it certainly wouldn’t stop us from re booking..
