Location, Location, Location
When visiting York it is really hard to beat us on location. We look onto the ancient City Walls with some rooms having beautiful views of York Minster. Although we are a stones throw from the central attractions we are lucky enough to be situated next to the famous Museum Gardens meaning our location is very peaceful providing a tranquil place to take a break from the hustle and bustle. We have the River Ouse at the bottom of Marygate just a couple of minutes from our door, a stroll along the river bank on your way to dinner is just one of the perks of our unique situation.
Sleep Of the Just
Not meaning to blow our own trombones but we are pretty sure you will have an amazing night's rest with us. The decision to use Harrison Spinks mattresses on our beds was an easy one, the price tag slightly harder but most definitely worth it. These specialist pocket sprung mattresses are made in Leeds using natural fillings of sheeps wool and hemp which are home grown in the village of Bolton Percy just outside York so have the added bonus of keeping our suppliers local.
Pairing the mattresses with the perfect linen was another slight challenge but after many trials we believed we have cracked it and as soon as our customers started asking where they could buy it from we knew we had.

The Minster Walk Breakfast Experience
Its Your Holiday - Do it Your Way!
Over the past couple of years we have altered our Breakfasts to fit in with our customers requirements and we are now able to offer a fully flexible option so you really can do it your way. We offer a self serve toast & cereal buffet in our Guest Lounge from 07:45 weekdays, 8:15 weekends complemented by our individually tailored, pre-ordered Hot Hampers. Our Hampers include a selection of Hot Breakfast Baps (Sausage, Bacon, Vegan alternative), Freshly Baked Pastries, Breakfast Yoghurts with toppings (compote, granola...) and Fruit Juices. You will find your breakfast order forms in your welcome packwhich our wonderful Breakfast Chefs Emma and Debbie collect from the order box (situated by reception) in the Guest Lounge in the morning. We deliver your Hamper to you either in the lounge or to your room if you have decided to have Breakfast in Bed.
We have lovely veggie, vegan, dairy/gluten free breakfast options however we do request you let us know any specific dietary requirements before you arrive with us so we can prepare.
All our room rates include our Minster Walk Breakfast, this is not a separate charge - we wouldn't dream of offering you Bed without Breakfast!
Historic and Unique
If you are looking for somewhere seeped in history with a bit of a twist we are most definitely the place for you. Situated on the ancient Hamlet of Marygate denoted by St Marys Tower at the top of the road and looking onto the York City walls and York Minster it is hard to ignore the history surrounding you as you enter our doors. Our original building dates back to the 1600s and if our lovely beamed ceilings could talk we are sure the stories they could tell would raise an eyebrow or two.Of course, a few things are not so ancient such as our new en-suite bathrooms, some with roll top baths and our unique room designs which I will leave you to explore when you visit.

Soon to be your favourite place to grab a respite from the busy city or to unwind after a long day exploring the cobbled streets is our Guest Lounge. Jam packed full of character and curio there is something for everyone. Wether you wish to steal away in a cosy corner with a hot cup of Yorkshire tea, fancy your chances at a game of scrabble or need to send a few work emails this is the place for you.Complementary drinks and sweet treats are always on offer as is our free superfast broadband and easily accessible sockets. Oh and of course our festive Mulled Wine & Mince pies in December are worth a mention too!
