Location

22 Marygate, York, YO30 7BH

We are lucky enough to be located bang in the city center so finding us is quite easy...

By Train

The best way to travel to us is by train.  Being a small city everything is close by and we are 5/7 minutes walk from platform to door.

The best way to reach us from the station is by foot following the directions shown on the map to the left:-

  1. • Exit the station via the short stay car park not the main pedestrian entrance – this is located to your left of the main entrance foyer (when coming from the platforms) past the York Tap pub within the station
  2.  Walk to the bottom of the car park and you will see a new ramped walkway taking you over the river (with stunning views!) via Scarborough Bridge
  3. When you exit the walkway you will find yourself in Marygate car park. Walk through the car park to the right and onto Marygate which is the road lined with the city walls on your right hand side.
  4. Minster Walk Guest House is located towards the top of Margate on the left facing the City Walls.

By Car

If you are travelling to us by car and wish to book parking with us  please let us know, this will cost you £15 per day.   Being in the City Center we have limited parking available and if you have not booked parking in advance we may not be able to accommodate you.

Approach York using Bootham  - The Hamlet of Marygate is  the last road on your right denoted by St Marys Tower shown in the picture.

When you do arrive with us we recommend pulling up outside the guest house on Marygate, checking in and unloading your bags then following the instructions to your allocated parking space which you will find in your welcome pack.

Alternate parking can be found at the bottom of Marygate where we are lucky to have a large municipal car park.

By  Bicycle

We are lucky enough to be under 7 minutes walk from York Railway Station and its secure bicycle storage facilities.   Although there are areas around us where you are able to chain bikes up (in the nearby car park and on the river front), we would not recommend this and find it aids the slumber of our riding guests to know their precious wheeled chariots are safe and sound undercover.

Should you have any bicycle repair, service or hire requirements you can find our wonderful local & independent Cycle Heaven shop at the front of York Railway station to assist with your every bike related need.
