Do We Have To Pay Extra For Breakfast?
Absolutely not!We decided to move our breakfast experience to a more informal one allowing our guests to adapt it to their own preferences on what they eat, where they eat it and indeed when.We also add this as one of our complementary extras (we have a few of those for you during your stay!) so if our guests wish to have breakfast at one of the many coffee shops or cafes nearby one morning they can do - as we say 'its your holiday, breakfast your way!'
What Was That About The Parking?
So we have a few pre-reservable parking spaces currently charged at £15/day.When youmake your booking, if you require parking please request a parking space.We will then get back to you to either confirm your space or if not let you know of other parking options and put you on the waiting list should we have a cancellation. Please be aware that if you are parking with us we will need your registration (in typed format of email or text message) to be sent to us before 12:00 on your day of arrival, if we don't have it you may incur parking fines.
Lifts - Elevators - Moving Stairs
Being an an exceptionally old building (at some point I will publish an history page about this - we are basically on the site of the civil war!) dating back even further than Keith Richards (we think) we don't have any of the above.Our Guest House is set over 3 floors - Ground Floor - First (1 flight of14 steps ) and Second (2 flights of steps, 14 then 15).Our stairs aren't particularly steep and we have handrails however if you do suffer any mobility issues we would suggest getting in touch and requesting a Ground Floor Room.
Heating - Because We Are In The North
Everyone is different so we have fitted each room with an individual thermostatically controlled radiator - our guests control the temperature of their room themselves using a knob - the higher the number the hotter the room!The boiler is always on so constant heat and water.Any issues with using the radiator knob please just give us a call :0)
We Arrive In York Early - Can We Leave Our Bags?
Yes!We say we need until early afternoon to service all the rooms but you are more than welcome to come to us when you get to York, leave your bags, get your room keys and have a cuppa, we would love to see you! For insurance purposes we do have to stipulate that leaving luggage is at your own risk - we will not touch nor move it.
Can We Leave Our Bags For a Bit After Checkout?
Yes of course, and no we won't charge you for this either.Just bringyour bags down to reception when you check out and we will show you where to leave them in our lounge.For insurance purposes we do have to stipulate that leaving luggage is at your own risk - we will not touch nor move it.
We Are Arriving Late Is That A Problem?
Not at all!We have a Super Smooth Check in System (its a keypad) for guests arriving when we aren't in the manned reception so there are no restrictions - arrive when it is convenient for you.
Why Do You Ask For A Mobile Contact Number?
So we always call our guests on your day of arrival to let you know when your room is ready or if we are popping out and you will need to use the entrance code - if we don't get you on your mobile then we will leave a voicemail and send a text message.We are contactable 24/7 on our helpline 01904 652780.
Pets Can We Bring Them?
Unfortunately due to allergies we do not accommodate pets.We are required to accommodate specific service animals however this would cause us issues with staffing so kindly request guests get in touch before booking if they intend on bringing a service animal with them.
